5.0 out of 5 stars a mother's story
My son, Christopher Colt Kelley, was murdered on December 21, 2001. He was 15 years old and he was a real Juggalo. 3.0 out of 5 stars Lost it??
Having been a fan since earlier this year, I expected this cd to be as good as the others. But I was disappointed at the lack of carnival content. But, saying that, it does have THE best song that ICP have done so far in Nothings left. The Amazing Jeckel Brothers may not be as good as the others, but what the hell, it's ICP, and a must for any true juggalo.

5.0 out of 5 stars a mother's story, January 16, 2005
This review is from: Amazing Jeckel Brothers [Limited Edition] (Audio CD)
My son, Christopher Colt Kelley, was murdered on December 21, 2001. He was 15 years old and he was a real Juggalo. He used to try and get me to play ICP cd's all the time whenever we were riding in the car together and I wouldn't listen to them. When he was murdered I took the time to sit and listen to what he was in to. I haven't stopped listening to ICP yet. I met Violent J once before Shangri-La came out and I told him all about my son. He held my hand and told me in these words that I will never forget, "You should not be sad that he is gone, you should always look at it like this, whenever it rains, that's him Raining Diamonds down on you." Then Shangri-La dropped and I heard It Rains Diamonds...and I could not stop crying. Now I am a 37 year old Juggalette and I'll be that way 'til I'm dead in the ground. My son was buried with an ICP shirt on and a Hatchetman round his neck. And I plan on going the same way. Everyone has their own thoughts about ICP and the Dark Carnival...but if you're not a true Juggalo....you'll never get it. MCL and R.I.P. Colt....we miss you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Did J.R. Kerr even listen to this album??, October 6, 1999
By A Customer
Gee, Mr. Kerr, that seems to be the same review you gave to every single ICP album verbatim.... why not stop bashing a band for whatever reason and really listen to them.... Besides their language, I really see nothing offensive or distasteful; as a matter of fact they are anti-hate and the only people I've ever heard them put down are those who are full of hate, women that cheat on thier boyfriends, and those who don't have enough sense to come in out of the rain. Yes, ICP's music features bad language and violence, but the music from ICP is of a comedic nature, the violence described is all fantasy (featuring the boogeyman and amusement park rides). The realistic violence they speak of is in the context of berating those who act this way.

Also in your reviews, that you have copied verbatim across so many amazon reviews for ICP, I sensed quite a bit of racism. If you have something against white artists, this ins't the forum for your intolerance, please go elsewhere.

If you want to see how ICP stands against Hate, Ignorance, Infidelity, and Violence, please listen to their songs; "How Many Times", The Great Milenko; "Terrible", The Amazing Jeckel Bros.; "Another Love Song", The Amazing Jeckel Bros.

4.0 out of 5 stars am I really writing an ICP review?, January 30, 2006
This review is from: Amazing Jeckel Brothers [Limited Edition] (Audio CD)
But seriously, this is a pretty good CD. Insane Clown Posse are generally known amongst casual passerby to be a shock-rap act with no culture and obscene lyrics about killing and womanizing. Well, it's true, isn't it? But that's not BAD, and approached with an open mind this is a very, very entertaining album.

Like any Insane Clown Posse album, Jeckyl Brothers has its fair share of humerous toilet humor songs. On this album most of them are pulled off very well. Some highlights include "I Want My Sh*t" which is an odd, dreamy trip-hop style song with lyrics depicting an immortal man's journey through time (in which he discovers his long tongue allows him to perform cunnilingus especially well)... "B*tches", of course, is the usual comedic revenge violence track. "I Stab People" is one of my favorite humor tracks. And of course "F*** the World" managed to get on the radio with the most f-bombs dropped in a single song.

But what really makes this an album worth special attention is its serious side. One thing about Insane Clown Posse is they always manage to sneak in a few songs that are extremely intelligent and insightful as well as bitter and cynical. The crude and vulgar lyrics that make the other songs so hysterical instead make these serious songs seem that much more honest and potent.

The best example of this is the biting social commentary "Terrible", which I find to be one of ICP's best songs period. Other good serious tunes include "Assassins" and "Echo Side," both unsavory and uncomfortable perspectives on their relative subject matter (not to mention creepy tunes.) The two character tracks, Jake and Jack Jeckyl, being part of the joker's cards concept are also creepy as well as socially applicable. They cool the album off at the end with the meloncholy "Nothing's Left" which is probably one of the least controversial tracks I've heard ICP put out.

The album's weakest points are where it takes itself too seriously where it should be making fart jokes - "Play With Me" and "Mad Scientist" are both decent tunes with good socialogical observations, but they end up coming off as cheesey since the fictional stories being told obscure the good points. ICP are best at being smart when they are pissed off, and these songs are a bit weak because of their lack of ICP's trademark bile. Some other filler tracks as well which aren't really worth a mention.

This is deffinitly one of ICP's best albums, and contains many of their best songs. I wouldn't recommend it to someone expecting "real" rap or hip-hop, and I wouldn't recommend it to someone without a real generous sense of humor. But both the humor and the social commentary can be rewarding to those willing to put aside their pre-judgements based on media hype.

I first started listening to ICP with this album and I thought this was funny as hell. I played this all the time at the maintenance office where I work. Amazing Jeckel Bros. is strongly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars DEFINATELY the BEST ICP CD YET!!!, June 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Amazing Jeckel Brothers [Limited Edition] (Audio CD)
When I bought the "Mad Professor" single and listened to it, I was afraid that "Amazing Jeckel Brothers" was gonna suck. In my opinion, "Mad Professor" is a crappy song and I was afraid the rest of the album would be the same. Well I was certainly suprised when I popped the "Amazing Jeckel Brothers" into my stereo to find it to be, from start to finish, the BEST ICP ALBUM BY MILES!!! In fact, the only song I DID NOT like was "Mad Professor", every other song kicked ass!!!

Songs like "I Want My Sxxt", "Fxxk The World", "Terrible" and "Come Play With Me" are definately the highlights plus the album kicks off great with "Bring It On" and ends on a serious note with "Nothing Left", which is a song that makes it very clear that ICP can get deep and write majestic lyrics.

After the ridiculous attempt at humor on the Great Milenko album, I was glad to see them drop the stupid 8th-grade humor (with the exception of "Mad Professor"), but don't get me wrong, they didn't drop ALL of their humor, this album still has some VERY funny moments ("The Shaggy Show", "I Stab People", "Another Love Song" plus the many Jerky Boys skits) but I tend to prefer ICP's serious and vicious side (the re-make of the Geto Boys classic "Assassins", "Nothing Left", "Echo Side", "Terrible").

All in all, an EXCELLENT album from my favorite rap artists...wait a minute, what I am saying??? EMINEM IS MY FAVORITE RAP ARTIST!!! "My name is... My name is... My name is... SLIM ANUS!!!"

Just Kidding.

To wrap this all up...It's a great album, If you're a TRUE Juggalo, however, you'll buy it whether it sucks or not. As for anyone who is not a fan but is curious about ICP, this is the album to start with.

Well, that about does it for now.

This CD is one of my favorites. It comes in a Red Case wich looks awsome, and the songs are [good]. At the end of a song theres a Drive-through skit wich is funny as hell. This CD also has a full-color booklet with tons of stuff to read and it has a short comic. I would recomnd this CD over all of the Joker Card/albums!!!!!!!!
