The best Townshend bio yet!, May 10, 2006
As a long-time Pete Townshend and The Who fanatic, I can tell you that this book is excellent. It's a thorough, easy to read, well-written account that covers Pete's entire career and is laced with interesting and little-known facts mined from thousands of sources. Many of those sources are listed as footnotes, so if you want to know from where the author got a quote or, more importantly, what the REST of the quote was, just go to the bottom of the page. The footnotes themselves are great!
Also, of great importance to me is that the author, while clearly a Townshend fan, keeps his opinions OUT of this bio. He gives us just the facts.
Pete's life, like his work, is a fascinating subject and any music lover would learn from this book and enjoy it.

Who are you?, July 9, 2008
My fiancé first brought this book to my attention when we were shopping in a local music store. In the local author section, there were two copies of "Amazing Journey" by Mark Wilkerson. My fiancé said he was interested in reading the book, so I bought it for him as a gift. Needless to say, I read the work after he finished it. The book is well-written and articulate, and I am amazed at how much research the author incorporated into his work. Before I read "Amazing Journey," I must admit that I knew nothing about Pete Townshend (aside from the fact that he was in The Who). Afterward, I gained a great wealth of knowledge on the musician, his solo projects, and The Who. I highly recommend "Amazing Journey" to anyone who is an avid fan of Pete Townshend or someone who is just getting to know him.

Recommended!, February 13, 2007
I've been a fan of Pete Townshend's work since I was in high school. Now, 27 years later, I find this documentary on his life and music.
I enjoyed getting some of the backstory on Lifehouse and the Pete's personal struggles that found their ways into his best work. My only regret is that I do not have a complete CD catalogue of music by The Who and Pete Townshend to accompany the book. For Who fanatics who have read, digested, and criticized everything that's ever been published about The Who, there is probably nothing new here, but for the rest of us this is a comprehensive, clear, and honest look at Townshend's life.
I hope he dies before he gets old.
