When I first learned that the MMC was going to record another cd, the only thing I could say was "Thank You Lord." I knew for myself that it was going to be another blessed album. After the long wait(it was truly worth it) I went to the music store and purchased it. After I put it in the music player in the car I could tell after the first song that this album was going to be "Off The Hook." All of the songs on the cd are my favorite I can't just pick one because they all are so good. From the first song "Come Let Us Adore Him" which is a very upbeat and modern to "A Widow's Love" a sermonette filled with much meaning and is delivered by a dynamic preacher. The other songs truly tell us about God's "Amazing Love." I recommend this album for both young and old because it has a little bit for both world's wrapped into one. It also gives powerful meaning and inspiration to those who seek it. 2 songs I would recommend for anyone that feels down and out are "By Grace" and "Holding On(And I Won't Let Go My Faith." I chose these 2 songs because they let us know that it was only By His Goodness and His Grace that brought us this far and inspite of what the enemy tries to do to keep you from being about Our Father's business Hold On and Don't Let Go Of Your Faith. If you buy this blessed and inspirational album you won't regret it and it will truly be worth all of the money you spent on it.

I love it when you go back to the old gospel where everyone can understand. "Holding On - And I won't let go my Faith" is just a testimony within itself. When I first heard it on the radio, my husband and I was wondering, who we were going to give it to in our choir and who can give it justice like she did on the CD. Sometimes, you have to reach back and get some of those old beats in order to catch some listeners because it sure caught me.

I am a huge fan of the Mississippi Mass choir. So you can understand my disappointment when popped this one into the deck. The album does not sound like the Mississippi Mass that I am accustomed to. It sounded like they needed more time with the material before they recorded. The first cut "Come let us adore Him" was not up to par. The choir's vocals came across sloppy, especially in the higher register. It wasn't crisp; I could actually distinguish individual voices drifting past the end of chorus break, which is unusually for this award-winning choir. In "Lord your Holy" the unison singing that they open with doesn't flow; it sounds unnatural. I was not impressed with the title track "Amazing Love". It was an original tune by a fresh writer, but as unique as the chorus and vamp were, I still wasn't feelin' it. The most disappointing part of the album was the mini sermon by Rev. Cone. Usually his story gives you something to think about, this one made me think about returning the album. I would rather have had the whole song at the end and heard 1 minuet of that sermon than vice versa. Where was Milton Biggham when all the work for this project was going on? Was he too busy with Georgia Mass?

The albums salvageable tracks are few. Their rendition of "America the Beautiful" is a good song. It reminded me of LA Mass's "Glory Hallelujah, His truth is Marching On" from the late 80's. The illustrious voice that you spend all album waiting for is in the song "Holding On,(I wont let go my faith). I believe this is her 3rd Mississippi Mass home run. The song finishes perfect, but then is injured by an unrealistic praise session. The instruments come in too soon as if it were on the sheet music, far too orchestrated. A song that was almost salvageable is "We Give You All the Praise" because of the passionate vamp, but they incredibly cut it short (if any song was going to go past 6 minuets, this should have been the one. They could have cut that ending from "Lord You're Holy" instead).

A few songs were reminiscent of the Mississippi Mass that I once new, such as "Lord I Thank You" and I Get Excited" but that was only after listening for about a week (they grew on me). While spinning this album I checked more then once disputing if Jerry Smith and David Curry wrote any of this material or if Dorcuss composed at all during this project, which according to the credits they did. Overall, this album is not up the late Frank Williams' standard for this renowned choir. It definitely is not their best work.
: If your looking for their best work, look into the albums "God Gets the Glory", "I'll see you in the Rapture" and their prior album "Emmanuel". Those are the albums I will remember them by until their next release.
