5.0 out of 5 stars great fun!
These little hardback books are mini versions of the originals, but they have exactly the same text and illustrations - and are way more toddler friendly! The stories are awesome - my 18 month old can't get enough. Theres lots of rhyming, and tons of 'factual information' rather than just a story - so i know hes going to love them for years to come. 1.0 out of 5 stars the worst thing is that my toddler loves them
These books are painful to read. To say the rhyme schemes, which are largely recycled in each book, are forced is an understatement, and the overall content is insipid. Sadly I am asked to read them again and again by my toddler. I just can't do it anymore, and we usually just look at the pictures, which are actually pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Godsend for Car-Obsessed Toddler!, December 26, 2007

When my son hit 18-months he became obsessed with anything that had wheels. Believe it or not, I found it hard to find a book that could pack enough cars into it to keep him engaged (exception being Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks and Things that Go which is also dynamite). Then - voila - I found this series and he absolutely loves it. There are enough books so that we can cycle through it continuously, about 3 a night. The illustrations are gorgeous and the rhyming stories flow easily without being too basic. Plus, there is a page at the end of each book that has some definitions so it also is good for building vocabulary. I can't recommend this series enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great set of books for little guys!! (even girls!), June 10, 2009

I purchased this set after my son had wanted to have "Tough Trucks" read to him every night for two weeks straight.

Different vehicles are introduced in these short books in rhyming meter but "star" the same familiar animals working with tractors, rockets and diggers. My son loves the page after the story that illustrates working parts and their names, like gravity boots, bow/stern of a boat, or blades/buckets on earth-moving machines, and points them out when we see them.

With 10 books in the set, you can rotate them enough to get exposure to all and still maintain favorites for both you and your children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for 10 very fun little books!, January 8, 2008

My 2 1/2 year old son got these for Christmas. He loves them. We've read through them dozens of times (sometimes all ten at once!) The pictures are bright and colorful, and the rhyming text is fun to read. They provide some information and vocabulary for all sorts of vehicles and machines. Each book has a picture dictionary page at the back, which my son loves to study before we say "the end." He knows most of the picture dictionary words now and loves to tell me what they are and what they do. Great gift for boys, but I'm sure girls would like them as well.

Great value for money and my boys just love these books, from the 2 to the 4 year old. They love the pictures and the rhyming nature of the stories. The truck they come in is pretty cute also. Nice too that they are educational, teaching about the different parts of machines. The whole family just LOVEs them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Son really loves these, January 3, 2009
This review is from: Amazing Machines Truckload of Fun (Hardcover)
I got this set for my 2 1/2 year old for Christmas. We have literally been reading at least 4 or 5 of these books every day. He can't get enough of them! His favorites seem to be Amazing Airplanes, Roaring Rockets, Terrific Trains, and Super Submarines (though he loves them all!).

5.0 out of 5 stars Truckload of fun is just that!, November 27, 2007
This review is from: Amazing Machines Truckload of Fun (Hardcover)
My son came home from kindergarten one day just a few weeks before his birthday and said Mom do you know the book "Roaring Rockets" by Ant Parker? I was amazed he knew the author. A book that had such an affect on my son is a must have for his library. When I saw that there was a box set of these wonderful little books, I knew he had to have them. The stories are fun and informative and the artwork is very detailed and that is great for my son. We have read them over and over and now he reads them to me!

4.0 out of 5 stars No masterpiece - kids love them though, February 9, 2012

These are great short books to grab when your toddler asks for one more story. They are 6-10 pages long and go quick. The illustrations aren't overly complex, and kids easily understand what they are looking at. You get a good amount of books with the set, and your child will likely identify a few favorites.

4.0 out of 5 stars cute books, box didn't last long, January 16, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Amazing Machines Truckload of Fun (Hardcover)
These books are great for any little person who is interested in vehicles of any kind. My nephew LOVES these books. The cute box they come in that makes it look like a truck did not last long, however. So, the books ended up on the bookshelf with the rest, which is fine bc I did not buy the books for the packaging.

5.0 out of 5 stars My boys love these books!, January 3, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Amazing Machines Truckload of Fun (Hardcover)
I have two sons, ages 1 and 2, and both of them LOVE these books. After reading some of the other reviews, I was worried they would be very small, but I think the size is perfect. Big enough to hold and see easily, but small enough to not take up too much space for so many books. We love them and would buy them again in a heartbeat!
