Jean Jacques, you racques!,

This review is from: Amazing New Electronic Pop Sound of (Audio CD)
Bet you've never heard anything like this. I'm a theremin aficionado, and also a fan of "Switched-On Bach" and other Moog-ish music. But Perrey's bright, melodic music is among my favorite CDs (and I have hundreds). His tunes are, dare I say it, catchy and brimming with energy. The electronic sound was painstakingly reproduced (it's difficult to believe what he created with primitive resources). Truly, Perrey is the ancestor of Fatboy Slim, without the heavy drum and bass. This is a terrific Perrey "starter." If you enjoy it, you'll find yourself buying his other CDs, too -- in particular, check out "Moog Indigo." Perry also can lead you to the wonderful world of Esquivel. But that's another glorious story!

Retro in the New Age,

This review is from: Amazing Electronic Pop Sound Of (MP3 Download)
First when I heard this I thought oh it's just another digital-remastered analog album of some 1960's vinyl. Boy was I wrong.
I still can't get over the fact that how much I miss not only the rich analog synthesizer sound but the style of retro music in this album. If you like simple pleasure and somehow attached to the sounds of rich, analog synthesizer, this is the album for you.
