5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting and insightful
I became interested in yoga a couple of years ago and have gone to classes, retreats, read books, etc. This is one of the more interesting books I have read on the topic of yoga.

"The Law of Attraction." Like the other terms used by Haanel, this was probably not of his own inventing. It seems to have come to light first in the works of William Walker Atkinson

I became interested in yoga a couple of years ago and have gone to classes, retreats, read books, etc. This is one of the more interesting books I have read on the topic of yoga.
I love that it really explores the power of breath and discusses techniques to harness prana. Many recent books tend to skim over this aspect of yoga, but Haanel really devoted himself to this very powerful practice. He also explained the eight aspects of yoga and how they combine to form a a powerful way of life.
I recommend this book to those who want a deeper insight into yoga, its background, and its practice. Although it sometimes comes across as dated, I feel it has a wealth of information not readily found in many recent yoga books. Definately worth the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars In depth, October 27, 2007
It is a known fact that the yogi's in India and in the Far East are perhaps some of the most miraculous people. They devote their lives to the Law of Attraction even though it may be called a different name. Charles Haanel does a spectacular job at giving a glimpse into the yogi's lives and dedication. This is a great book and I would also reccommend a book by Robert Collier entitled, The Amazing Secrets of the Masters of the Far East. w w w . theexecutiveleadershipcoach . c o m

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing? Maybe ..., July 14, 2007

I have been practicing Raja Yoga for years. Haanel discusses techniques that will change your life, bring wealth, happiness, and good health. What I don't understand is why some of the great souls like Ramakrishna, and Vivekananda died so young. Maybe they should have read this book. Really, it is interesting reading, and well researched. I'm not sure about the techniques he describes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Beginners, January 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great starter book for someone wanting to learn about yogic techniques. The book is easy to read and understand. This book does not require the reader to be knowledgeable about Sanskrit and some of the other riddles of the East. There are some very powerful practices to learn in the book. Stay focused and consistent with these practices and new windows will open to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reading, December 27, 2010

Great book. It does clearly explain Yoga as the science which develops the capacity of the human mind to respond to higher vibrations. For a more in debt knowledge on vibrations, check out "A book about you" from the same author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Step-by-step core information, September 24, 2009
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Written linear style in a simplistic manner specifically describing the purpose of each technique practiced by yogis.

The veracity of some statements of age and longevity of a yogi is questionable, however the core content is credible.

Precise descriptions of how to breathe and the purpose of the breathing method is helpful. Each chapter is concluded with a list of study questions and answers to the study questions as a review of the most significant information of each chapter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spectacular, June 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is great has it explains the secrets of Yogi and breathing techniques that can be useful in becoming more in tune with ourselves. Far from the traditional over exaggerated books of today that diverts the readers attention but never delivers what it should. Mr Haanel is the Father of Self Improvement and he had the vision to write books in a time that this type of knowledge would have been unheard of. Today this knowledge is inspirational and can help the reader to develop oneself to greatness and success that so much of us desire...
