Amazing Universe III makes learning fun. (Link-Up, Sept 95); Unlike most CD-ROMs that offer rather pointless, fragmentary videos lasting only a few seconds, Amazing Universe III has full-length featurettes that run, in the case of one called "The Sun and Beyond," as long as 8 1/2 minutes with narration plus spooky electronic music...Amazing Universe III is definitely one of the more effective multi-media discs on the market. (EQUINOX, Oct 95); The SkyView part of the program is one of the best I have seen. All dialog boxes are fully equipped with appropriate and logical titles and subtitles. In my judgment, this program, although designed with the beginner in mind, has a great deal to offer even the experienced amateur. -- PC Register, July 95

This CD-ROM was a collaboration between Hopkins Technology, multimedia and CD-ROM publishers and JLM Visuals, content developer to educational natural science departments since 1978. This CD-ROM also incorporates several other powerful pieces of software not written by Hopkins Technology - planetarium software and solar system simulation software. Special music was commissioned for this title, and the combination of photos, video, narration, music, and great software makes this an excellent all-around choice for education and astronomy buffs.
