I've been using Zumbo's cookbook for several years now, and out of all my wild game cookbooks, this is the best. There is a great variety of recipes for all forms of venison. Many recipes use everyday ingredients that most people have on hand all the time. There are also more exotic recipes to try. Plus, Zumbo imparts the secrets of field dressing game, a good section for the hunter himself/herself to read. I highly recommend this book to anyone who cooks venison!

My husband just got his first deer and we had it all butchered and delivered. Now I needed to cook it! But how? Last time I ate venison it was horrible! A friend of mine loaned this book to me and I read it cover to cover (it being an easy read). I've had other books on cooking wild game, but deer is particularly tricky because it can be very strong and these cookbooks were really for gourmet cooks. I tried two easy recipes out of this book and each time the meat was mild flavored, tender and delicious. I might mention that I HATE cooking and only have the standard staples on hand. Most of the recipes don't ask for more than that so it really fits my needs. I shall never be afraid to fix and eat deer meat again! The book was more than just recipes, though. It also covered all the principles one needs to know and understand in order to develop my own recipes. Well done!

So I purchased amazing venison recipes cook book on 11/29/11 as a Christmas gift for my brother, who loves to hunt. It's now 12/30/11 and I'm still waiting for the book to come in the mail. I've been in contact with Amazon.com and the best they can do it, oh sorry we will refund your money. Well thanks that's going to help me out on Christmas... oh wait Christmas is over with now. I've asked if they would provide me with a tracking # so I could at least verify if it was shipped, nope no response to that e mail... I'm sure most people who have used this site has had good experiences with it, however for me chances are I'll never use this site again... "bordeebook" was the seller and was a very big let down for me. Every year we draw names out of a hat to see who has to buy a gift for who each year... yep thanks!!!! I have a "wonderful" time with this site and with this purchase and the way things were "handled" I had a very "merry" christmas this year...
