Author Emerson Olson argues that just before World War II, the social welfare of many Americans started to deteriorate. He sees the removal of prayer from schools in the 1960s as a major cause of problems such as not believing in Jesus Christ, sexual immorality, divorces, children living with one parent, and untaught children. Ultimately, Olson attributes all of this to the many people who have forgotten or who have not been taught about the power of God.
