No mosquitoes, and they smell nice too!,

I live in Brooklyn, NY, which means I've got mosquitoes no matter what I do- I can make absolutely sure there is no standing water anywhere, but mosquito-breeding heaven could be just a few lots away. I've tried citronella torches, diffusers, sprays, granules, and sonic repellents, and none of it was tough enough to deter a Brooklyn mosquito. With all the rain we've had this year, I was worried we wouldn't be able to sit in the garden in the evenings, but these Amazon Lights incense cones really do the trick- the bugs actually leave us alone, and they scent our garden with a lovely herbal aroma, not garlic or chemicals. Our friends have been commenting about how nice they smell, not complaining about being bitten. They're all-natural, pleasant, and effective- best anti-mosquito purchase I've ever made! I also bought the sticks, they're long-burning and perfect for a party!

I love this product. I thought they would be larger but I realized that they do show the true size I just did not pay close attention. I live in Nashville, TN with common area behind my home, on the side and across the street. Due to the economy there are only 2 houses built on my street that is divided into to about 10 lots. Therefore, there is just open land with plenty of annoying flying bugs. Also, we do not have any street lights so we keep all outside house lights on for safety reasons. We could not enjoy our deck out back & it was difficult getting in the front door or the garage with the outside lights on without being attack by flying bugs. All types including mosquitos would also enter the house with you. After I received the cones I tested them before we had friends over & I was so amazed at how well they worked. I could have cried tears of joy! My husband was happy too because the bugs were driving me bonkers & I was driving him bonkers. Problem solved. Great Product. You should definitely try this product.

These things work as promised and put out a great fragrance. Make sure you use them outdoors only as they will overpower indoors. Cautionary note: They only burn for about 20 minutes, so you might want to try the sticks instead. But they're great to set on the picnic table while you eat and watch the bugs turn tail and head for someone else's backyard!

Keeps Those Pesky Mosquitoes Away-Incense Does a Good Job,

I live on the river in hot, humid lower MI. The perfect environment for swarms of mosquitoes...not so perfect for someone who likes to sit and look out at the river. The mosquitoes are so bad here I can't even get in the care without a couple skeeters riding to work with me.
I wanted some type of repellent that would not harm the birds or impact the environment-this looked perfect! I ordered the incense cones and the sticks and love them both. The aroma is fabulous, so more more pleasant than the citronella candles (which I find nauseating). Everyone raves about the scent of this incense. It has a woodsy herbal scent which is pleasing to most everyone except the mosquitoes. Most importantly, keeps the mosquitoes away, while the incense is burning-which is a real relief! The cones do burn fast...in about 20 mins. Sticks last about 2 hrs. Depending on how large of an area you are using and the amount of time outside, will determine the number of cones/sticks to use. I find I must use more than one cone at a time-about 3-5 cones while I am gardening for a short time (under 40 mins). I am ordering more as gifts for friends and family. Just a tip here- make sure you have an extra metal or glass dish to use for the cones. A tiny ceramic dish comes with the cones but you can only put one cone on it. I set a burning cone directly on my wood deck and it burnt a shallow hole in it.

Smith & Hawken insect repellents - a supplier,

Ever since Smith and Hawken closed down, I've been looking for these things. I was very pleased to find an alternative supplier on Amazon.
They aren't particularly elaborate - just incense cones with a dash of citronella, plus other flavours. There are two types - Joss sticks and cones, but they both work on the same principle - they keep the mosquitos at bay by emitting scented smoke. As it happens, I find the cones to be more convenient. I suspect the principle is smokescreen rather than repellent, but that doesn't matter. They work, and they smell quite pleasant: they don't get in the way of enjoying an al fresco meal. If you live near a swamp, er I mean Natural Wetlands, and would like to be able to sit outside in the evening, try these. With any luck, they'll work as well as they do for me. Recommended.

We live in Central TX, which is a pretty bad place for skeeters in the spring. We use these on our front porch at ANY time of day, and the mosquitoes stay away. I wouldn't suggest using them in a high wind area, but if you have an isolated area to use these, they REALLY DO WORK!
