These sticks are great. They emit a pleasant smell and burn for a couple of hours. As for their bug repellent effectiveness, they sure seem to work. Of course, they don't work well when its windy unless the wind is blowing across the area in which you are located.

I purchased these incense sticks along with the Amazon Lights cones, and couldn't be happier. The cones are great for just a few friends out on the patio, the sticks are even better for a whole yard of folks- they keep the whole area skeeter-free, and burn for a couple of hours. These incense sticks not only smell lovely but also help to repel flying insects! Use them as directed--create a perimeter and allow to smoke for twenty minutes. They seem to work very well for us!

The fragrance alone entices you to buy. We were bug free the entire evening while using the sticks. Love them.

I'm sold on the incense sticks. Pleasant aroma and they do keep the mosquitoes away (w/in the perimeter of the fragrance). I'm ordering more today to take me through the summer and to give as gifts to my mosquito-plagued friends. I've purchased the sticks and the cones, and I'm a bit more partial to the sticks-they last much longer (2- 2 1/2 hrs), I can stick 2-3 around the patio while relaxing or in the garden while tending my flowers. Also while gardening, if I move to another area I just pull the sticks out and move them to my new working spot. I believe they will be fully tested when I take them camping in Michigan's Upper Penisula later this summer.
Just a word of warning here, be careful-the smoldering end is hot, so you need to warn the kids or place them where children and pets won't accidently run into them.

These are the only insect repellent sticks that will work on the FL state bird....the mosquito LOL. Seriously, a wonderful product and has a pleasant scent.

I like this product. It is mostly what I was looking for. It burns well and lasts hours. The only complaint I'd give it is that it produces a fair amount of ash and that can be messy depending where it lands. Also, the ash burns you if it drops on you - speaking from experience :) It smells nice and does seem to help keep the bugs away, though.

These incense sticks last long enough for an evening out on your patio or deck. You can put them in a nearby flower pot or in the ground. They burn well and if you don't use an entire stick, it can be snubbed out in the dirt and used again. As with all incense sticks, there is a little ash that falls on the ground as it burns. No big deal. They seem to work with the "Southern Mosquitoes," aka the Asian Tiger Mosquitoes. One of the oils used in these sticks is derived from a Brazilian jungle plant, however it says it comes from China on the box. That doesn't bother me much, because I'd rather the plant be cultivated than plucked from the Amazon jungle.

They keep the bugs away! They have a pleasant scent and they burn for a few hours. I used a small ceramic flower pot with cooking flour (I didn't have sand or potting soil) to hold the sticks. This worked great on the deck. I had not found any candle or any other bug repellent that worked before I found this product. I highly recommend this product. I also bought the candle and the small cones which also work great. We took these camping with us. We set them up around our campsite. They didn't do anything to stop the mosquitoes.
