From the Author
Hello, reader,Amazon Avenger
is the second in the Jack McDonald, terrorism thriller series, introduced in Arcturus.
This time, the action starts in the Amazon River jungle. As in Arcturus,
the tactics are for real, the threats credible, and the guns--well, if you like guns, you'll like the stories.
This time, I needed an intel source in the Amazon and created a character, a Brazilian housekeeper, working for a reclusive man living in the jungle. I meant for her to play a minor role but, she, Consuela, took on a life of her own and surprised not only Jack McDonald: she surprised me!
As in Arcturus, insofar as it is practical, the places are realistically described because I have been there, from Manaus in the Amazon, to Manhattan.
Hope you enjoy the story if you buy,

From the Inside Flap
THE WORK IS FICTION.
THE WARNINGS ARE REAL.
TERRORISTS ARE HERE.
THEY STAY UP LATE AT NIGHT
PLANNING WAYS TO KILL US.
A cross between Fatal Attraction and a Tom Clancy thriller, in Amazon Avenger, the second in the Jack McDonald series, Jack discovers murder, lust, and terrorist intrigue pointed like a dagger at the heart of America from Consuela's steamy jungle bungalow.
Consuela warns of great evil spawned a thousand miles up the Amazon River. Her warning summons Jack McDonald and the secret Arcturus counter-terrorist team.
What they discover in the Amazon jungle ignites
into what could be tomorrow's headlines.
Consuela--the dark, Brazilian, jungle beauty with no past--confronts evil intimately and must choose. She yearns for liberation, love, and life, but powerful ties bind her to her oppressor.
Jack McDonald's U.S. Army drove him out; his greatest failure as a Ranger lieutenant tortures his dreams; his wife--his only solace--dies tragically; loneliness hovers as Jack's constant companion.
Recruited into a secret, illegal, counter-terrorist team, Jack seizes the chance to get his gun back into the fight--to serve. Yet, Jack's calling to protect the weak and innocent leads him--once again--to defy his commanders.
Saya-dar--the terrorist financier and mastermind--sifts other men, deploying their greed and hatred for America as his weapons. Bold as he is brilliant, Saya-dar's twisted, egomaniacal lust for revenge fuels his reckless--but devastating--plot.
Bound for the American coast, the action explodes in the Amazon jungle and spills out into the Caribbean, as Saya-dar conspires with leaders of enemy nations, recruits agents, and hires pirates, all to mask his most clever terrorist plot yet. Time is running out as Jack McDonald and the Arcturus Team fight their way through Saya-dar's hired killers, and desperately unravel the clues.
The author, M.J. Mollenhour, a courtroom attorney in Knoxville, Tennessee, draws from personal experience as an Army Ranger and rifle platoon leader with Jack McDonald's unit--the 506th infantry "Currahee" of 101st Airborne Division Band of Brothers fame--to create Jack and his supporting, not-so-fictional characters.
