I ordered this product for my new Kindle but when it arrived I found that it was actually bigger than I expected. The booklight worked better than I expected for such a low price. While the case worked well functionally, the size was bigger than I needed - not a big deal and I figured I'd just live with it. I noted the need to make sure you get the right size case in my seller review. That's when I got a pleasant surprise - the seller (Vangoddy) reached out to me and offered to replace my case with one of the correct size at no additional charge. This was some of the best customer service I've ever experienced! So, the bottom line is the case & light package I ordered were very good and you can count on Vangoddy to address any problems or concerns you may have --good product and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE - you can't beat that!!!

The description that this is a Kindle DX hardcase leads one to believe is was designed for the Kindle DX, this is however not true, it appears that is was made for a NetBook Computer as my Acer Netbook fits in it perfectly where as the Kindle DX shifts around in the case. Also there is a strap that covers the front of the Kindle, and I would assume that if it had been designed for the Kindle DX they would have used corner straps to secure it in so a person could read without removing it from the case. Also the book light that comes with it does not fit very well on the Kindle DX as it was designed for a bound book, not a digital reader. It tends to want to come off if you bump it as you cannot fully clip in on the Kindle DX without it clamping down on the top part of the screen.

The case is perfect! Originally I assumed it would be a netbook case since the dx is about the same size. This is DEFINITELY a custom case. It fits the DX perfect! The light was cool too and I have had 0 problems with it. The hard case is a great protector. I throw my kindle in my school bag and have not had one issue with scratching,cracked screen, etc.

the zippered bag is okay, and the light, but the skin is not good. it should be skin tight, but it isn't. I had to order another one fron another company. can't recommend the skin

Bought this for my daughter n law so she could take it back and forth to work to protect her Kindle and she loves it.

This is a very nice case. Nice design. Elegant look, but with some flaws. Outer handles with velcro are a nice touch. Make it portable and comfortable to carry. Padded inner pocket is an extra layer of protection. The outside pocket is big and useful, so you don't crush things up against your Kindle. It closes pretty securely with velcro. The outer shell is firm, but far from hardshell. I do use it, because it is the best of the current Kindle cases available.

But . . .

--Too big. Does not fit snugly. The Kindle does bump around.
--The velcro strap used to hold the Kindle in place can scratch the Kindle's screen. I wrapped it in a microfiber cloth.
--The case will NOT protect your Kindle from any big falls or accidental steps, bangs, depressions, etc. It is NOT a true hardshell case. No way. I have hardshell cases for my music equipment. This is a FIRM case, but it bends too easily to protect your Kindle from any major accidents.

Not better protection than the box the Kindle came in. If the box had had handles, I would have used it instead. :)

That said, it is the best choice you have right now. Hopefully someone will make a TRUE hardshell case soon.

Fits like a glove and allows me to take my iPad out easily instead of the apple cases that are made to hold the iPad in place. The outside pocket is great for carrying the accessories

EXACTLY what I needed for my Kindle. Not a luxury looking one but I wanted protection for my valuable product.

This is a great product for protecting your Kindle DX and for storing accessories in the side pouch. I actually dropped my Kindle while being stored in this case and my Kindle survived thanks to the hard shell case. The images tell you exactly what you are getting such as the strap from top to bottom. I love this product and I recommend it as a storage case for the Kindle. I looked all over for a hard case to protect my kindle while traveling and I was glad when I found this one. I love it.
The light is also an added bonus and it works very well if you clip it at the bottom of your Kindle DX where it is wider.

I received this item is record time. I returned this item for exchange and have NOT received the replacement, or a letter from the company. That was 3 weeks ago. I am not satisfied with this company. BAD RATING
