Book Description

With the exception of 5 days, an IMMEDIATE KINDLE BESTSELLER in multiple categories the first 36 weeks of publication!

How do so many authors get a bestseller? Amazon created an ingenious marketing engine that drills your book through several layers of free and automated Amazon and Kindle book promotion. Each layer is completely unique, and each layer reaches millions of readers every minute of every day, YOUR target market. Book categories can propel your book into a publicity campaign like you've never dreamed of, courtesy (and cost) of Amazon.com.

Amazon has wisely structured their site for auto book promotion, promotion and more promotion applied to each book without bias, whether you are Indie publishing or traditional. But few authors are aware of the tendrils of opportunity extending from your sales page to your target audience. And those lead to more and those lead to more and... Until Amazon has created another print and Kindle best seller.

Even lesser known is that your Amazon automated personal publicity engine starts with and build upon categories. Mess up your categories and you'll never rank in most of Amazon's lists, including bestsellers.

This eBook is the most comprehensive help you'll find in using the simple but vital techniques offered through Amazon's category choices, leading your book to not only become a category bestseller but also make it into many of the other Amazon's top-100 lists, and promotional direct email marketing. If you're looking for free author publicity and book promotion Amazon is the place to be.

A fellow author's probe into the machinations of Amazon's mega book publicity engine, the book attempts to understand their multi-leveled promotional core with no legal lingo, no geek speak."

Vikram Narayan, CEO of BookBuzzr.com, says of the book: "This book is a little jewel. Aggie Villanueva changes your perspective of Amazon from that of an online book store to that of an author publicity machine. This little book is essential reading for authors ... even those who hate Amazon!"

Ken Korczak, Reviewer, says of the book: "I've been in the kindle ebook publishing game for a number of years now, have learned a lot. I also already had a basic understanding about Amazon categories - but Villanueva has obviously been combing through Amazons methods and policies - analyzing everything in critical detail, and what she has discovered is significant and important."

Editorial Reviews

Review

Reviewed by Fiona I. for Readers Favorite. 5 Stars. "Aggie Villanueva demystifies the giant in the sky called Amazon. She suggests that simply by tapping into seemingly insignificant areas such as categories, an incredible marketing machine starts working. Also a treasure trove of hidden extras. An essential guide.' Highly recommended."

From the Author

It pains me to report I've read bestselling books that teach such erroneous tactics for promoting yourself on Amazon that, if followed, will result in your (and the teacher's) book being deleted from Amazon's bookstore if you are caught.

That's part of the reason I wrote "Amazon Categories Create Best Sellers." This book concentrates on the vital part categories play in the free and automated promotion Amazon offers, but also covers other components of the Amazon publicity engine such as reviews.

Unfortunately there are thousands and thousands of innocent reviews deleted by Amazon, possibly an overreaction to the vast illegitimate use of reviews. But on the other side of the coin, so many authors are violating Amazon's plainly written rules, and writing book that teach other authors to do so, that if/when their 'bots catch you, the punishment can be banishment.

I have read books sold on Amazon that actually teach writers to violate the most strenuously enforced rules. And then when those writers get that dreaded email from Amazon, they are as shocked and angry.

These violations are more prevalent than you'd think, whether through ignorance of "the law" or purposeful deception. This is why I devoted part of this book to teaching what the review guidelines really say.

Make Amazon your own private publicist legitimately to reap their vast promotional benefits and none of their penalties. (read more details here: promotionalacarteblog.com/2012/07/teaching-authors-violate-amazons-reviews-guidelines/)

3.0 out of 5 stars Teaching One Lesson... August 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I recently recieved a copy of Aggie Villaneuva's little book AMAZON CATEGORIES CREATE BESTSELLERS. I was asked if I would mind reviewing the book.

I found that the book was very good for explaining one particular mechanism of the Amazon book selling mega-machine. Just as the title tells you, this little book primarily concentrates on the use and selection of categories for your next book release.

That's fine. As an e-book author I am very interested in ANYTHING that helps me sell a few more e-books. That's what we writers come here for, isn't it?

So for those folks who want a little more in depth information on the strategies of making the Amazon category system work for you - this book might definitely prove useful.

The book does suffer from something that a lot of self-help e-book writing volumes suffer from. Being as it is centered around her own experiences the author must continuously refer to her own work as an example for her theories. This runs the risk of coming across as a little tiresome and self-serving after a while. Perhaps the author might have done better to consult a few other writers.

So, if you'd like to find out more about using the Amazon Book Categories to your best ability you will find this little volume very useful.

Yours in storytelling,

Steve Vernon

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money September 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
After reading this book, I just don't get it. Beyond the title of this book, there is no "aha" moment. In fact, there is not a single usable tip in all these pages. She is aiming to help people create "category" best sellers (as opposed to real best sellers), which is pretty simple to do. If you and a couple of buddies order your book on a slow afternoon, you will probably reach this pinnacle of literary immortality. And I don't think reading this book will get you any closer anyway.

I had to laugh at her screenshot showing her book in the Category Top 5 and in the low 100k's in sales. I wasn't laughing at the author, but at myself for buying this unfortunate guide. Not to be a jerk, but I have written several books that became category best sellers, some for prolonged periods and others just for a day here and there. For those of you who can't wait to do the same, let me tell you: it doesn't pay the rent; it maybe buys lunch and dinner. I was looking for something just a little bit grander. But this book has brought the definition of "best seller" to an all time, lowest common denominator that I never knew existed.

Even if a new author is reading this book to get to THAT point, I think you will be disappointed. It starts with a Forward by some friend of this author, telling you what a determined person she is. Thanks, but save that for your author page. I just spent money on your book, and the more I click the FORWARD button on my Kindle, the more I get that sinking feeling that there's no substance here beyond the title. If someone cannot figure out that Amazon has different categories and that a newly published book goes into categories, then spend a few minutes browsing the Amazon store and you'll see that concept in action. It's not rocket science.

There is no advice in this book on how to write better or sell better. I bought it hoping to learn something I can use, but it is pure trash. It is poorly organized and packed with filler that adds no value, except to market her website. Maybe she provides you with some useful advice once you spend more money, but when I buy a book that promises information, I expect to learn something. If you are an absolute Amazon virgin and have never even ordered a product or never realized that Amazon makes money by promoting the products on its site, then this book will help you understand how the site works. That's about it.

I am sure this author is a nice person. I have no doubt that her other books are terrific. As a fellow author, it makes me cringe to pan a book this badly. In fact, I don't think I have ever taken the time to write such a poor review. But I believe this book has a deceptive title and has dumbed down the definition of best seller to an all time low. Also, I have read other "How to" books that were basically a waste of time except that there was one useful piece I learned. Those books got five stars instead of one, since I came away richer for that sliver of knowledge, and even one good paragraph was worth the price. Not here. This book is an exercise in how to provide as little useful help as possible and stretch it out over enough pages to justify the page length so she can call it a book and promote her website.

For that waste of time, money, and the failed promise of something greater (even the least bit substantive), I give this book the worst rating I have ever given any book. There are many more effective guides out there for Amazon authors. You deserve better.

4.0 out of 5 stars How to Get an Edge with Amazon July 14, 2012
Format:Paperback
Amazon Categories: Create Best Sellers is a helpful resource for understanding the inner-workings of Amazon's potential to promote your books successfully on Amazon, to the point of creating a best seller. While most authors think of Amazon as the world's largest bookstore, Aggie Villanueva clearly points out Amazon's unlimited potential for being a publicity machine as well. She also correctly identifies the disconnect between Amazon's capabilities and authors' lack of awareness and understanding of these capabilities. This is why she wrote this book - to uncover the mystery behind how Amazon can help authors sell more books.

Without question, marketing and promoting your books on Amazon and through social media can be confusing and at times overwhelming. The reality is that it's not enough anymore to just write a good book. You have to learn how to market it and get it out to the right people. Fortunately, there are authors like Aggie Villanueva who are willing to share what they know and help us on our journey.

She was a published author at Thomas Nelson before she was 30 and commenced to found local writers' groups, the Mid-America Fellowship of Christian Writers three-day conference, taught at nationwide writing conferences,

Aggie founded Promotion á la Carte, author promotional services July 2010 and 6 months later was voted #2 at Preditors & Editors in Promotion, and #4 in 2011. My Book Marketing Systems, her sister company saves authors $100s - $1,000s on author apps. She teaches author promotion across the Web.

Photographic art entered her life in 2007, and within two years Villanueva was dubbed the Grandma Moses of the American Southwest by her artistic peers, and is represented in several online and walk-in art galleries across the nation.

Critically acclaimed in the June 19, 2008 issue of the Rio Grande Sun:

"Villanueva is one of those rare individuals who uses new technology to take a digital image to a new and exciting level. With some photographers this digitizing and manipulation are evident and stumbling, not so with Villanueva's work, which is sophisticated and well thought out. She has a knack for transferring her impression of a scene to the viewer that is remarkable and almost magical."

As Aggie states; The Fairy Trail is real, folks. Welcome To My Path."
