i didn't know what to expect when i got this game ... but it's actually so much fun. the different levels, power ups, and block types make this game entertaining.

my boyfriend and i are trying to beat each others' high scores :) lots of fun!

I got this game for free somehow; however, make that emphasis on FREE as don't pay for it if they're selling it.

The scenarios are dark, and this is harder on the eyes. The levels are also a little more difficult and less fun than Ricochet Lost Worlds Recharged.

I would never have known the first thing about this game if I had not come across it available for free. Of course, my expectations were not very high at all, but I figured I would give the game a shot and just remove it if it proved to be as lousy as most other free games I've tried in the past. I soon discovered, though, that Ricochet Extreme is actually a pretty fun and challenging game. I started out in Easy mode, and the further I advanced in the levels, the more I wondered what the game designers could possibly throw into the mix next. The basic concept of the game could hardly be simpler: you just bounce these little balls (which can ricochet all over the place) off of your paddle controller in order to take out a bunch of bricks on the screen. As you progress from one level to the next, though, a variety of different kinds of bricks make their appearance, and all kinds of power-ups make things more and more interesting (and challenging). You've got your fast and slow power-ups, your shrink and enlarge ball power-ups, your laser gun power-up, your magnetic ball-catching power-up, your multiple-ball power-up, and the list goes on. I can't tell you what kinds of crazy things can happen in the higher levels because I was born with some lousy hand-eye coordination genes, but I do enjoy trying to get to those higher levels.

To be honest, this is not a game I would actually purchase, even for a few dollars, but I do enjoy wasting time playing it. It is fun enough and challenging enough to appeal to children as well as adults (there are four different difficulty levels), and the graphics are actually pretty cool. I don't think I'm going to be uninstalling this little game any time soon.

This game isn't exactly on the cutting edge of new technology, but its a pretty decent game. If you just want a game to shoot the breeze, then this is the way to go, it gives you a brick breaker style game, just amped up a little. If you don't have any games on your pc, or little netbook, give this one a go.

I'm always looking for a decent game to pass the time, and this one works. I also wanted to see if it did have in-game advertising, and it NO LONGER HAS ANY IN-GAME ADVERTISING, as the previous person also stated. I wasn't shouting; just wanted to make others leary of downloading because of that initial problem.
I did only play the first level, and found the asteroids a bit distracting, especially since they didn't impact the ball. I assumed the ball would hit the asteroid and get redirected, which it didn't. All in all, I'm happy with my freebie, and if the time comes when in-game advertising mysteriously returns, the game will undoubtly get uninstalled.

This game is reminiscent of the 80s game breakout. However, the graphics are awesome and there are a lot more options. You can choose a difficulty level of "Easy" "Normal" "Hard" and "Insane". Each level introduces new weapons/tools and difficulties. There are a lot of levels and options. The background music is cool too. Things you might not wish to catch are red and things that will improve your game are green or blue.

This is a great game for anyone. It's very easy to figure out - you hit the ball with your customized paddle, the ball breaks the bricks (or the space age equivalent thereof) and you get points. Every one in the family can have their own profile and high scores are tracked.

Cool bricks we've found so far: exploring bricks, extra tough bricks, bricks that release "treats", and invulnerable bricks.

Some "treats" we've found: ball speed changers, paddle length changes, guns for your paddle, and electro-catch (electricity on your paddle that allows you to hold the ball).

This game is fun, addictive and well worth the tiny price.

I have played many versions of this game through the years and finally owning it in a free version is nice. The grand total was $0.00, which you can beat and the game will provide you with at least a few hours of entertainment, and you can challenge yourself to the harder levels if you wish.

Pretty fun game and had no problem running it on my Windows Vista laptop. What a fun way to kill time at home or at the airport. Thank you for making it FREE!

It's a fun game, yes, but it has one resolution and can't be played in a window. I wouldn't pay for it, but for free it's fine.

I like the game. And, face it, these games are very addictive.

The interface is good but a little blocky. Kinda surprising when you first load it but if you look at the system requirements you can see that this game would run on a 10 year old computer. That sort of backwards compatability is gonna cost you where graphics are concerned. But if your child's hand-me-down computer is still running Win95 they can play this game. Pretty nice.

The 'paddle' is a ship with a curved shield you use to bounce the ball around. I like that since you don't have to try to use glancing blows to direct the ball in different directions.

Pretty cool powerups, plenty of extra ball powerups, guns for shooting the blocks, etc.

The only thing I didn't like was that it is just a single player game. If it is just you or just one child that is fine. But this is the sort of game you could set the kids down in front of while you and your casual dinner guests could chat or eat while the kids are busy playing against eash other. For the price a very inexpensive way to occupy their time.

Worth the purchase.
