All Time Low is on my top five bands list and has been there for some time. Dirty Work is their 3rd major album to date. The previous two, Nothing Personal and So Wrong It's Right, stood out as solid albums that delivered Alternative Punkpop Rock worthy of the genre. Dirty Work on the otherhand, doesn't live up to the predecessors in my mind. Why? It seems to leave to far into pop rock and doesn't stay true to their original sound. This is their first album under Interscope Records, and most of the songs we're produced by Mike Green. Maybe there we're too many hands working on this project, or maybe they we're aiming for wide-stream success, but it doesn't quite ring the bells i was hoping it would. The previous two we're under Hopeless Records, and one of my most respected producers Matt Squire did most of that work. I was hoping he would have a big influence on this album instead of the one song he produced. Putting all that behind though, Time-Bomb and Heroes are my favorite tracks, but there's not enough of those tracks to earn my 5/5 mehs. So 3/5 mehs, I'll still love em. I might come to like it over time.

Dirty Work November 5, 2011

Looking at Dirty Work purely for what it is - a pop record - it's a terrific collection of songs. A catchy, natural progression from Nothing Personal.

for fans of Fall Out Boy's 2nd and 3rd records, Every Avenue, and Anarbor. <3

All Time Low has been my favorite band since 2008, after I fell in love with thier album So Wrong, Its Right. I loved everything about them then, especially the fact they wrote thier own lyrics! Now on Dirty Work nearly every song is co-written, and you can hear that very clearly. The lyrics have gotten too focused on being drunk, partying, and living a "dirty" lifestyle.

If you listen to Dirty Work from the viewpoint of some kid who likes MAINSTREAM pop-punk(ish) music, then its a pretty good album. And when I listen to it not thinking of it as the band I fell in love with 2 1/2 years ago, then it sounds pretty good. I especially like "Bad Enough For You" and "Guts". But then again, when I listen to it thinking of thier old songs like "Lullabies" and "Six Feet Under The Stars", then well.. it kinda sounds like trash.

I really think your viewpoint towards All Time Low will effect how you like this album. If you just want some fun, catchy, pop punk summer songs then its a great album. But if youre actually in it for music and real lyrics, then I recommened staying away from this.

After waiting for this album for months, and going to The Dirty Work Tour, I built up to high of hopes for this album, and honestly was let down when I got it. But I dont want to call them out on one poor album - they still are a great band, who are incredible live, and I will always have thier older songs and albums!
