Book Description

Driven by grief to find a cure for cancer, Elizabeth DeMarco left Logan Spencer to accept a position on a research expedition to the Amazon rainforest. Kidnapped by guerrillas, she was saved by a secret all-female civilization, the last of the ancient Amazons. But Elizabeth discovers she's traded one form of captivity for another.

Today...

Logan never stopped searching for Elizabeth. While consulting in the remote Brazilian interior near where she was kidnapped, Logan suffers what should be a fatal fall. Near death, he's collected by the Amazons and magically healed. Elizabeth is the first person he sees as he wakes.

But there's no time for a joyful reunion. The Amazons' mystical medicine is rapidly changing Logan. They want his DNA and plan to take it—and then kill him. Logan and Elizabeth must escape before dawn or Logan—and their second chance at happiness—is doomed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Could There Be a Sequel?? January 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is an exciting short story. A woman doctor goes into the Amazon to search for a plant that she believes can cure cancer, breaking her lover's heart as she does so as he wants her to stay behind in the States and marry him. She is saved from a group of drug smugglers intent on rape by a group of Amazon warriors. However, the Amazons keep her captive for 2 years, wanting her medical expertise for their own gain.

During that time, he man is searching for her. The Amazons find him too and intend to keep him as a stud. After all, as the Amazon queen says, "He is male, is he not? Males rut." LOL

But this male, Logan, only has eyes for the doctor, Elizabeth and after they rekindle their love, they aim to escape, even if it means trusting another Amazon to help them.

Exciting and fun and a great plot. I loved the whole Amazon warrior tribe, but it was too short for this type of tale. I wanted to know more.. I think a lot more could have been added, such as scenes with Mari. I wanted to know more about this Amazon that was somewhat exiled from her own people. I'd love to know her background. Also, Logan with his new powers, did he impregnate Elizabeth? He almost had lightning bolts shoot from his you-know-what and they weren't using protection... I sense there may be a sequel here, some super powered baby, but I think it should have been one novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazon Heat January 9, 2012
By Vanessa
Format:Kindle Edition
It just so happens that terrifyingly interesting things and peoples can not so easily be stumbled upon in the Amazon rainforest. Dr. Elizabeth DeMarco was seeking any plant that may assist her in her attempts to find a cure for cancer. Dr. Logan Spencer was looking for his lover who has been missing for two years, Dr. Elizabeth DeMarco. What they both have inadvertently discovered perhaps could be a cure for many ailments and will most likely be the death of both of them.

Liz and Logan have many regrets. They would both like to change the events that separated them to begin with. Once reunited in the Amazon's medical facility they both decide that they need to escape so that they can move past their regrets and go forth towards a happier life with each other. There's just one problem. A mythical force that they lack the ability to manipulate holds them captive. Time is growing very short for Logan and the Amazon's plans for him.

Amazon Heat is an exciting novella, telling the story of two doctors/lovers trying to escape the nefarious plans of a secret Amazon civilization. The Amazon women want their secret to remain hidden from the rest of the world. They cannot allow anyone who knows of them to ever leave their secret society.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazon adventure... January 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
My Review:

Whoa! What an adventure in just 20,000 words. This is a quick, emphasis on quick there, little novella.

Elizabeth went into the amazon trying to find a cure for cancer. Instead she found a band of guerrillas who kidnapped her. When a lost Amazon tribe swoops in to kill her captors, she thinks that she is saved, but she quickly finds that this may not be the salvation that she was hoping for.

Logan has spent the last two years combing the amazon trying to find any trace of Elizabeth. He cannot accept that she is dead. In a freak accident, he too is captured by the Amazon tribe, but is now slated to become the tribe's sperm donor...whether he wants to or not.

This entire book has a huge sense of adventure to it. The feel of it reminds me so much of the movie Romancing the Stone. Elizabeth and Logan are both medical researchers and scientists, but they both feel so deeply towards each other. Logan has never given up on the hope for Liz's survival. On the other hand, it was just simply bad timing when Liz left to head into the amazon. It was sudden and she left things badly with Logan which she has always regretted. Honestly, neither one ever thought that they would get the chance to see the other again. That distance and regret has made their passion even hotter once they find each other again.

There were so many little things about this book that I liked:
*the magical valley which the Amazon's live...seriously mystical
*Logan- yum, 6'4" of muscular yumminess with a heart of gold. The fact that he never gave up on finding Liz after two years...a[...]
*Mari- the Amazon slave. I love her and her loyalty to Liz

The book was somewhat abrupt in its ending, but it definitely made it seem like there are more books to come in this series. I, for one, am very excited about that prospect, because I did enjoy this one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonder Woman would be proud February 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a fun and short read - possibly too short - but my fingers are crossed a sequel is in the works with Mari. Ironically, I read this novella the weekend after my favorite TV show "Supernatural" aired an episode about the Amazons, and it was cool to see how much research these authors did on the subject that coincided with that show. Bottom line is, I really enjoyed this story! Wonder Woman would be proud.

4.0 out of 5 stars Adventure, Danger and more February 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
For a short story, this book was full of adventure, danger, romance and more. One short sex scene, but it fit well with the story line. The author did a good job explaining the scene settings, the Amazon people and the danger that Beth and Logan found themselves. I round this story to be a nice, short adventure, with suspense some magic and a little romance thrown in. I absolutely love the cover of this book! I'd definitely try the book just by looking at the cover!
