5.0 out of 5 stars Bamboo does the job!
It is soft, absorbent and comfortable. And about one third less than other web sources for a similar robe. Washes well and seems well made. HOWEVER BE WARNED. I am 5' 9" and 190 pounds and an extra large fits perfectly. Be sure to super size your order. If you normally wear an extra large, this one probably won't do the job.

3.0 out of 5 stars incorrectly sized
I purchased a large robe. The sizing table gives the following measurements for medium and large for Robe Length, Arm to Pit Length, Sweep Circumference, Sleeve Length, Cuff Length, Belt Length:
Medium 49 16-1/8 50 31 14 70
Large 49-3/4 17-3/8 53-1/2 31-3/4 14-1/2 73-1/2

I purchased a large robe. The sizing table gives the following measurements for medium and large for Robe Length, Arm to Pit Length, Sweep Circumference, Sleeve Length, Cuff Length, Belt Length:

Medium 49 16-1/8 50 31 14 70

Large 49-3/4 17-3/8 53-1/2 31-3/4 14-1/2 73-1/2

Even though the tag said large, the robe they sent the belt length is 70 inches, cuff seems to be 14, and sleeve length is 31 and arm to pit is about 16-1/8, clearly a medium.

That said, the robe was very soft and seemed well made. Just be careful of the sizing and check it out when it arrives. Other reviewers have said it was sized small, and it may be that they were just incorrectly labeled.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't fit, December 26, 2007

I purchased this as a Christmas gift and it does not fit. The arms are very small for what should be a loose fitting bathrobe. The quality is good, but the sizing for a large was tight for the uppper body.

1.0 out of 5 stars Soft, but snags and sheds like a DOG!, May 19, 2009
This review is from: Pinzon Bathrobe (Kitchen)
Wonderful color and is soft and silky--but it is falling apart! It has shed little green hairs all over the house and on anything you might where under the robe, like boxers. The threads don't come out in the wash either, so now all the boxers are green and hairy! I have not done anything harsh to this robe, not even washed it--but there are snags and pulls all over it. Really would not recommend...Also, runs small for sure.

4.0 out of 5 stars soft, good fit, but..., February 7, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pinzon Bathrobe (Kitchen)
I like this robe a lot, and fell asleep in it last night after a shower. It is super soft and snugly, and contrary to many other reviewers, mine fit just right. I ordered a small and I am small. No problems size wise. The robe did however have several substantial snags in the material. I guess I can just cut them off, but to discover noticible defects right out of the box was a little disheartening, even at the incredibly low sale price I paid for it. So yes, it's a great robe for the money, and the workmanship overall seems fine. But don't be surprised to see some signs of less than perfect quality control. The other robe I was considering cost $85; this one was less than $27. And this one is bamboo. A pretty cool deal.

A few weeks later, and I have to report this robe is COVERED with snags. Countless snags. I got it for $27; the price for a small white robe has gone up since then, and I have to say I'd be ripped if I'd paid upwards of $60, which is what the larger sizes go for, only to have the robe essentially unravel before my eyes. It's really too bad, because this bathrobe has some great features. It's super soft; it's absorbent; it's VERY comfortable. But the material simply doesn't stand up to normal use. And after a few weeks of gentle wear, it looks ancient and sad. I dread the thought of what will happen when I wash it. If comfort is your main concern, and you don't mind looking disheveled, this might do. I'll snip off the snags, and go on wearing it. But I would not have bought it had I known how fragile the material is, and I would not recommend this purchase, especially at full price. If I could, I'd reduce my rating to 2 stars.

Another few weeks, and I have to check in once again to say that I washed the robe, and it seems less prone to snagging. I don't get it, but it's a relief to have it hold up. The occasional snag, but nothing as extreme as the initial unraveling. A mystery.

1.0 out of 5 stars not what I hoped for, March 17, 2009
Pinzon Bamboo Cotton Large Bath Robe, Palm I purchased this robe only a couple months ago (at full price, $100) because I really wanted a rich looking green color. The first time I wore it (I washed it first)I realized that it was extremely heavy, not in thickness of fabric, but fabric weight! It also snags so easily it is unbelievable. I am sorely disappointed with the overall quality. In the first week the fabric on the collar became bleached out in spots, turning to yellow, from my electric toothbrush spraying a light spattering, which I'd immediately washed off with cold water. Also, because of a review I'd read regarding the sizing, I purchased a size large, which fits the same as a size small in my old robe. I too would return it, if I could get a refund, because of poor quailty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very plush robe, August 9, 2007
This robe is coziest robe I own when stepping out of the shower. The softness of the bamboo cotton rivals cashmere. It has a nice weight and fits well. I also own the Pinzon Bamboo Cotton towels and love those.

3.0 out of 5 stars Soft body, scratchy collar and cuffs, August 7, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pinzon Bathrobe (Kitchen)
While the major part of this robe is made of beautifully silky-soft terry cloth, the collar and cuffs are made of heavy fabric with a contrasting texture that is quite rough, similar to the trim on the towels. Washing didn't help -- if anything it got stiffer and scratchier.

5.0 out of 5 stars here's the deal with the fit..., June 30, 2008
This review is from: Pinzon Bathrobe (Kitchen)
i ordered two in size medium for my husband and myself. we're the same size - both 5'4" and about 150 pounds, but obviously shaped a little differently. we both wear size medium clothes. the bathrobe fits me well (but is fitted - like a comfortable and snug top) but is a little snug for him around the shoulders. the shoulders are cut raglan-style, by the way. so it seems to me that the robes are sized like women's clothes, and men should order a size up. i think the large would have been more comfortable on my husband, but the medium fits him ok.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soft and cozy spa-like robe!, September 15, 2008
By
Robin (Mountain View, CA) - See all my reviews
I purchased this on a whim thinking "wouldn't it be nice to have a spa-like robe at home instead of my current well-worn bathrobe..." Well, this was a great find! It's soft and feels substantial without being overly heavy or thick. Based on other reviewer's notes, I ordered a size larger than I normally would and that was a good idea. I'm 5'7" size 4 or 6 and got the medium instead of small. It fits great.

I've had it a few weeks, and haven't washed it yet, so can't speak to its durability over time (hopefully others can), but so far I'm very pleased. I ordered the white and it's a nice bright crisp white.
