I use this CD like a conventional alarm to wake me up. Actually, 'alarm' is an inappropriate word; this CD eases me into a wakeful state. Very pleasant, easy way to come back to the world.

I bought this CD to play for my birds in their play area. It's such an easy soundscape of the rain forest but they reacted positively towards it and even whistled in response to the birds in the recording. It's been a nice addition to their auditory enrichment.

This CD of natural jungle sounds (no music) sets an exotic mood. The rain drips more loudly than i'm used to in New England, possibly because it's closer & the leaves are bigger. It is gentle & not repetitive. There is only one track, a very long one of course, and there is no printed insert. For a specifically educational CD, get Cornell University's.

My daughter is expecting her first child (my first grandchild) and her baby shower was to be a surprise. She loved Fisher Price's Rainforest line of products for babies, so the shower theme was Rainforest. IT was held at a lovely Italian restaurant and her best friend and I wanted everything to be perfect for her and a small group of family/close friends. We had vases of tropical flowers and I made rainforest wreaths with baby jungle animals, etc. I looked on Amazon for weeks for things for the shower, as well as many gifts for the baby. When I saw this Amazon Rainforest sounds CD (and the African Rainforest sounds CD) and read the customer reviews about how the sounds were gentle, and then saw the extremely reasonable price, etc. I thought how perfect, not only as background during the shower, but for when my daughter's best friend first brought her into the room. So as my daughter entered and we waited in silence, the first thing she heard was the beautiful sounds of soft rain, and tropical birds softly making their lovely sounds. It was perfect! During the shower there was much interaction, and playing of games, opening of gifts, so these CDs playing in the background, with the scent of the lillies and other decorations, was absolutely perfect. As usual, Amazon always comes through on special occasions!!!! And my items are ALWAYS shipped in time for the particular occasion. THESE CDs ARE SOOTHING, LOVELY, and SO WORTH the minimal cost.
