I love Yacon Syrup because it is barely sweet, tastes natural like food and not fake sweetener.

It is totally unfair for the other reviewer to rate this product as a 1 when it is not the fault of the manufacturer that the bottle received was broken. Thus, they did not even try the product.

I bought 6 jars of this particular brand, while I didn't order it through Amazon, it is the exact same product and I feel it would only be right to offer a tried and true review.

From where I ordered this, all jars came individually bubble wrapped and I had no issues whatsoever with any broken jars. I was impressed with the way they were packaged, great care was taken so I wouldn't have the issues the first reviewer had.

The reason I bought this product is that I am a hard-core user of agave nectar. I use it exclusively in my baking. Some of my recipes call for molasses. I would always use the agave in place of molasses. When I found out about Yacon syrup I knew I had to give it a try. It imparts a totally different flavor than the agave, it's a deeper and more poignant taste than agave and DEFINITELY makes a difference in taste. I've used it in my baking of a dark russian bread and also in dark pumpernickle bagels - my Mom had been wanting me to make a dark bread for her forever and I finally did - she said it was better than anything she had ever expected, and imagined. I've also used it in baking quick breads. In the future, it will be used wherever molasses is called for.

If you are familiar with agave and it's taste and consistency, yacon has a much stronger taste and is a lot thicker than agave. Where I can say that I think agave tastes somewhat like corn syrup, I really don't know what I can compare Yacon syrup to. I don't know what molasses tastes like. But, for me, and others who have tasted what I've baked, it seems to work great!

I take 1.5 TBSP of this a day - mixed with plain Greek Yogurt (which normally has a chalky taste) and ground flaxseed. I eat it every day, and I am losing weight. I read that diabetics and others who want to control their blood sugar use it in Peru. I tastes like treacle (sort of inbetween maple syrup and molasses) and is very thick and very sweet.

I loved this syrup so much I've ordered five more -- through another purveyor to save on shipping. The product is wonderful, great taste, perfect consistency. However it's 12 ounces, not 13 as advertised.

I bake/cook with this, and I really like it a lot. I am restricted (as is my husband) in my use of sweeteners, and yacon has been a real blessing--

I bought this product for weight loss due to Dr. Oz's recommendation. While I have not lost weight a wonderful side effect has been ending a two year long battle with my intestines. The problem has gotten nearly 100% better. Even after a colonoscopy, a trans vaginal sonogram and visit to a infectious disease specialist, not one doc could determine what my problem was. Viola I found my own answer. This product. Fantastic.

I love this stuff! I'm also glad that I purchased this particular brand because I have since ordered a bottle from a different company that I don't like at all and will not buy again. This yacon syrup is great! I use it in my tea and I also put it in my salad dressing that I make from balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and brown mustard. The Yacyn takes away the sometimes too tangy flavor of the vinegar. I bought this for many reasons, (not the least of which I hope it helps me lose some weight) I want the benefits of the raising of my HDL cholesterol, the revving up of my metabolism, and helping me with my cravings. So far (and I've only been using it for two weeks) it has definitely helped me with my cravings. I am not sitting around going nuts wanting something sweet to eat! If that is my ONLY benefit then I am happy because not eating junk all the time will in and of itself help me loose weight. Drawbacks of yacon syrup is that is causes a lot of gas. I guess that is because of the fiber which I need anyway so I am not going to let that stop me from using it. I do think it is very pricy - to the point of trying a different manufacturer with a cheaper bottle which was a mistake. I hope that the price will come down so it can be affordable to people on a fixed budget. One bottle of this lasted me not quite two weeks and I used the recommended three teaspoons a day. That adds up to a lot when you figure that you will need two bottles a month and then some. I will be purchasing this particular brand again because it has a nice smooth texture and mild flavor.

I found this data on line, but I did not look it up "Brand Specific", I also did not include vitamin and mineral contents for either product. I did find a taste of this delicious and used it rather than honey in a sauce, it performed perfectly! Shipping was slow, but it did arrive by the date promised from the seller. It just was not lightening fast like Amazon can fill- but that is not important. This company is not the size of Amazon and I certainly do not want to pay for faster shipping.
