Our problem is there's not one massive organized movement that has pushed this out into the mainstream where it needs to be. If CNN and MSNBC were reporting on DRM "killing the industry! The bigger-than-Hollywood industry we told you about!", then Amazon would probably consider it.
We also have a mixed bag: Spore and Dead Space kicked me around with DRM, Mirror's Edge and Crysis Warhead did not. I can't figure that one out, but it smacks of something worse, like profiling...like the days when, if you had CD copying software on your machine, Ubisoft would rootkit you and screw it all up.
