4.0 out of 5 stars A Good App With a Few Flaws July 27, 2014
By Kellen

Amazon Wallet is designed help organize and simplify you billfold. If you have trouble keeping track of all of your gift cards and loyalty cards, you may consider giving this a try.

It functions exactly how you'd think. By scanning a bar code or manually entertaining a card number, you can store your cards on your smartphone or tablet. When you need to access a card, simply tap on it and the app will generate a scanable bar code.

Although this app works on both smartphones and tablets, I experienced a few frustrations on my Galaxy Note. First of all, the app functions in portrait orientation only. I have a feeling that Amazon may add landscape orientation in future updates, but until then, be aware of this issue. I also noticed a few glitches in the user interface on my tablet. These glitches were not visible on my Moto X. It is obvious that this app is primary built for smartphones.

The screenshots, provided by Amazon, suggest that you can view your gift card balances. However, this feature did not work with my Belk gift card. The app will not let you manually enter a balance either.

You must be logged into your Amazon account in order to use this app, but this should only be an issue for people who don't stay signed in.

Despite it's flaws, I like where this app is headed. Keep in mind that this is a beta. I'm sure Amazon will make many improvements before its official release.

3.0 out of 5 stars Getting there July 31, 2014

Amazon Wallet beta is a work in progress at this point in time & developers wanting to perfect an app put it out in 'beta' format so bugs can be found on different platforms & hopefully rectified.
My cellphone is a HTC One M8
The main problem I have had is with the Card scan feature.
It is extremely difficult to get the Barcode into the correct position to get a read. When it does, the Barcode images on 3 out of 4 of my loyalty cards is incorrect.
This maybe as a result of the dual 3D cameras on the HTC One M8. The images displayed of the front & back of the cards is fine.
The developers should have a way to contact them within the app rather than taking flak in the reviews.
Love the idea & is an app I would definitely want in the real world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Save space in your purse or wallet!! September 12, 2014

I like this - it makes my purse smaller, because I have so many fewer cards to carry. However, I don't like that some places this doesn't work - like the gas pumps at Fred Meyer because you can't angle your phone at the right angle so the scanner can read it. That's my only complaint so far.

Would be nice if it properly updated balances for gift cards. Otherwise dies what it should. Needs more functionality!

2.0 out of 5 stars Best Buy, and many more October 13, 2014
I have the app for the fire phone. App is too immature for primetime, Needs some improvements. Amazon needs to add default images for all the cards they have listed. Such as CVS, Best Buy, and many more.

2.0 out of 5 stars The app needs better input features November 4, 2014

The app needs better input features. I should be able to just scan the bar code for a rewards/loyalty card and the APP should fill in all the information (name of card, image of card, etc..). But it doesn't. Nothing is automated when inputting cards. You have to type in everything. But once you type in all your information from all your cards, it seems to work.
