5.0 out of 5 stars Great Money Clip
I have been using money clips now since 1990 when my sister got married and I was in the wedding party the customary gift was money clips.
After going through about 10 in that span since they usually dont hold up well from bending constantly and not having a spring effect I saw a titanium clip here and decided to try it out.

The package consisted of a small box and a little jewelry pouch. The packaging was fine but when I pulled out the money clip, it looked rather cheap. Rather like the workmanship of an amateur metal shop student. There is uneveness in the metal, especially near the bend lines and the brushed exterior isn't good enough to cover it up.

Also, if you open an close the money clip without any cash or something to clip inside, it will scrape the other side of the clip leaving scratch marks on the other side. This was apprently the first time I opened it up and heard the scraping.

As far as functionality, it seems to work ok (though this is only after 1 day of use). After clipping a stack of 5 credit cards, it kinda stretched it out and it could no longer securely hold a folded set of 4 dollar bills.

I paid $25 for this clip and in my opinion that's way over priced. If you want something elegant, I'd recommend shelling out more money for something better cause the workmanship and quality of the finish really drags this down.

I'd return it but I don't wanna have to deal with the shipping and handling.

3.0 out of 5 stars Item as described - does what it is supposed to do, January 7, 2006

I paid $25 for this money clip and it is exactly what it was described to be - a lightweight, titanium - money clip. I have been using it for approximately two weeks and have had no problems. The clip securely holds my five credit cards along with several folded bills. I was a bit disappointed in the weight of the clip, as it is much more lightweight than I thought it would be. I keep reminding myself that titanium is lighter than steel and just as strong, I just still have yet to adjust to the lightness. I tend to equate lightweight to 'not capable'...and this is not the case here. It is nothing fancy and is a very plain-looking. My biggest gripe is that I find myself digging my nail into the mechanism to open the clip, and that could be annoying over time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke!, November 9, 2006

I liked this clip pretty well at first. Unlike most I liked the lightness of the titanium, I usually have more then enough things in my pocket, so the lack of something else weighing me down was refreshing. However, one day I emptied the clip of all its contents before I was able to go to the bank so it sat in my pocket empty. When I pulled it out again it was in two pieces. The pin in the hinge broke for no apparent reason. I haven't looked into having it fixed or replaced yet but I bearly had it a couple weeks.

I was amazed at how thin and sturdy this thing was. The clip that flaps over holds very well and I can see it wont wear.
This one looks like a lifetime keeper.

1.0 out of 5 stars Titanium Money Clip, March 24, 2007

Titanium Money Clip
Upon receiving my Titanium money clip, it was initially functioning properly. After less than thirty days; however, the Titanium money clip no longer functions. The clamp (which holds together bills of money) is no longer tight. As a result, my bills fall out of the money clip.
I rate this product as insufficient. It does not function as it claims it will.
I would not recommend this product to others. Intermittently, I have already bought another money clip (from a different manufacturer) and it functions properly. Given the comparison, this Titanium clip is not worth the money.

I owned this item for 1 and 1/2 years. It is great in terms of getting throgh the airport quickly. The little tab that I thought was such a clever design snapped off last night. I don't believe I mistreated the clip, and I am having an issue deciding if I would be willing to spend another 30 bucks on someting that will not last.

I hope I have better luck with my next one, but it will not be the same design.

I was looking for a money clip that was thin and light. I wanted a hinge so that I didn't have to bend it every time the thickness of my wad of cash changed by a significant percentage. I dislike gaudiness as much as cheesy or cheap appearance.

This money clip meets and exceeds all I asked for, except it looks a bit on the cheap, as others have commented. It also scratches easily, but I knew about this prior to purchase decision since I've owned other titanium products.

I would have given this a solid 5 stars if the manufacturer made it wider using a thicker material and rounded the corners evenly, but I'm not sure if I would have paid a higher price.

For those of you who are using your finger nails to open the hinge, I recommend that you hold on to the bills to open the hinge. You will have leverage to open it easily without risking a cut. Yes, it's that sharp.

5.0 out of 5 stars Product matches expectations; no problems, February 22, 2007

Product matches expectations; no problems. Some other customers complained about how lightweight it is. To me it seems like what you should expect from titanium (after all, that's why they use it to make aircraft). The predictions of it getting sprung (losing its spring tension) were more of a legitimate concern to me, but I've had it for a month or two and it seems fine. It seems no more likely to do that than any other money clip, which is to say, maybe it eventually will, or maybe it won't, them's the risks of life. Go for it.

Amazon collection offers a 90 day warranty on this piece. That's about all the use you'll get out of it. It is poorly designed, fragile, and _will_ break on you, even if you use it gently like I did. I will never buy from Amazon collection again, as they refused to stand behind their shoddy product. Performed like aluminum of the same thickness. Garbage.
*Edit to add* I returned the clip and bought another. It broke even more quickly. This clip is a terrible design, and should never be bought by anyone for any reason. Avoid!
I since bought the - Slim Clip Money Clip - Money and Credit Card Holder Wallet and it's great. Although not titanium, it's flat, super durable, works great and seems likely to last forever. It's also less than 1/3 the price. Win!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, simple, strong, durable, January 5, 2007
This review is from: Titanium Money Clip (Jewelry)
Several years ago, I was given one of those so-called front pocket wallets as a gift. It had a clip with the exact same mechanism as this clip riveted to it. I loved the clip, didn't like the wallet. Too bulky for my front pocket. So I ripped the clip off the wallet. I loved that clip until it broke after about 4 years of everyday use.

Anyway, in searching for a replacement I found that I could spend around 20 bucks for another front pocket wallet and rip the clip off of it again or I could spend around 20 bucks for this clip.

I love this clip.
Its extremely lightweight, strong and durable. It keeps my cash neatly organized and doesn't pull my pants down.
My only complaint is that the corners are a tad pointy. The manufacturer would do well to soften them a bit.
