When will Amazon get these back in stock? Is there an ETA for this? I'm tired of seeing the other retailers selling a body only for $1,400 bucks when retail is $1,199.

It's the flooding in Thailand. You'd be better off waiting a month or two until production is in full swing. Simple supply and
demand issue. Not a good time to buy a D7000 and a replacement model is in the works - that will make you even feel
worse about buying it at a hiked up price.

Ya I'm definitely going to wait till the prices are back with in reason. I just saw a new one put up for $1,499! Ridiculous.

Some new one's just came out, but they are scalping your money. $1,499.95 for just the body. That sucks. I'm looking for one too.

Ten new D7000's with the 18-105 kit lens were listed for sale by Amazon today - price $1,499 - back to under MSRP. They did sell out quickly - it appeared from the selling pattern that one individual or entity purchase several at once. I didn't purchase one today, because I don't need this lens. Nikon D7000's are in production and as pointed out above, should reach normal levels by the end of March. But, some are hitting merchants now. I believe that the wait is almost over.

I bought one just about an hour ago from Amazon direct for $1199 for the body. I used the NowInStock.net text service to let me know when it was available and bought it from my iPhone. Pretty handy.
