Amazon Basics camera bag,

The materials are very nice and the design is good. I want to report the internal measurements of mine, which seem at variance with others: 5 x 3 x 1.5". It is a perfect fit for my Kodak Z915. The outside pocket hidden by the top flap is 4.5 x 3.3" with a nice zipper near the top and an expansion gusset on the left side. (My Duracell PPS2 Li instant charger which is a small external USB battery, fits nicely in there with its cable, although it is not an accessory that I would use with that particular camera.)
The function and padding of this bag are excellent and a very good buy at this price point. The only downside is poor worksmanship in sewing: on mine neither the belt loop nor the flap velcro strip are centered. Neither flaw is going to make any difference in the use of the bag.

very big P&S camera case,

This is a very big P&S camera case. It will probably fit the biggest P&S cameras. The dimensions in the description are the internal dimensions. The external seams and heavy padding give the case some huge external dimensions: 6"x4"x2.5". This thing won't fit in your pocket.
The top flap and the belt loop are secured by pieces of generic velcro. They seem fairly secure when new, but will they get too weak with use? Definitely keep an eye on those if you don't want your camera to go flying. Construction quality is not as good as similar cases from LowePro or Kata, but it is a good value at $6, which is half what the name brands cost.

I bought this case for my Panasonic zs7 and found it to be too big. This is not a case that will fit in your pocket. Otherwise its a good case. Nice padding and holds good.

This is my second AmazonBasics camera case. The first one was a leather case that I used for a Sony DSC-TX7. That case worked perfectly for as long as I owned the camera, the only reason I stopped using it is that the new camera, Sony DSC-HX9v, won't fit. I sold the camera to a friend and gave him the case.
The Sony DSC-HX9v fits perfectly. I wear mine on my belt and even if it is bigger than my previous case it doesn't bother me at all. The interior is very soft and has plenty of room for cameras bigger than this one, I see at least one finger width of play at either side of the camera, but it doesn't move much once the case is closed. There is only one pocket (external), and it only expands on one side so I doubt you'll be able to cram more than two batteries in it. If all you need to carry is extra memory cards, space won't be an issue. As for the belt loop, so far it has done the job. I can wear the case on my belt for a full day without any issues, even if I am in the car. The outside material is a dull ballistic nylon-type material, with a small vinyl tab sewn onto the flap. All the stitching is solid. The velcro on the flap is sewn assuming that you are cramming the case, if the case is only carrying a camera like mine then you will wish that the velcro could reach at least another inch. Overall I am very pleased, I don't see why anyone would spend so much money for the Sony branded cases when this clearly does the job. I imagine image conscious buyers will want some kind of brand displayed on the case (this case only has one tiny brand on the zipper, which is hidden from view if the case is closed and the zipper is tucked in) but in my particular situation I want stealth and this case does the job perfectly.

Good Quality and A Great Value,

I use this AmazonBasics Universal Camera Bag to store my Panasonic ZS-3 P&S digital camera.
The fit is not as snug as Lowepro Rezo 50 Camera Bag, but which one you want depends on your camera usage style. You open the the Amazon bag by pulling a Velcro-secured flap, whereas you pull one or two zippers on the Lowepro bag. I like the Amazon because of its looser fit for my camera and quicker access via a flap instead of zippers. The case is very well padded and it also has a zippered pocket for small items such as memory cards and spare batteries. And for less than four dollars, including free shipping if you have Amazon Prime membership, it is an amazing value.

Nice large case,

As others have said, this case is pretty large. It's a bit more bulky than I'd prefer for carrying around, but it is a nice case. The exterior is soft, the construction seems solid, and the camera compartment is well padded and lined to prevent scratches.
Things that I like about it: - The soft exterior really is quite nice. To me, it's a very comfortable item to pick up and hold. - I have complete confidence that my camera is well protected given the padding and soft lining of the case. - There is a separate zippered pocket for other items (such as spare batteries, memory cards, ID, keys, whatever). - The belt loop uses velco, so you can put on and remove the case without taking off your belt. The only thing that I'd change is to replace the belt loop with a belt clip. Other than that, this is a nice case and good buy at the current ten dollar price.

Sturdy Case,

AmazonBasics makes a very study case for your camera. Pay close attention to the dimensions of this one, because it might not be a perfect fit for your new digital camera. This case is probably a little bigger than you would expect. (3.15 x 1.57 x 4.73 inches LxWxH)
The "look" is also a little utilitarian, but that's just how "sturdy" looks. At least it's subtle and doesn't say "I'm expensive...steal me". I picked this case to store my Seagate 500 GB Portable External Hard Drive. I picked it because it has room for extra cables and accessories. No matter what you store in this case, it will be well protected by the sturdy padding. There's also plenty of room for spare memory cards, batteries, and cables if you like to take those with you. And if you need it while you're on the go, then attach it to your belt with the provided belt loop.

BIG!,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The camera case is big for most compact point and shoot cameras and has lot of room to spare for other accessories like AA batteries, extra memory cards, you can even stuff in your clamshell types of cell phone, you get the idea the Camera case is BIG!, Much bigger than it looks!
Even bigger is the shipping box :-), it was shocking to see so much of paper and materials are wasted by Amazon on shipping this camera box, see pictures posted on Amazon you will see what I mean. Most of my point and shoot cameras that I own was rattling inside the big case, I ended up using it for other things, Like taking my wallet, cell phone and keys inside this while I ride my bicycle. The quality of materials used to make this bag is good, it has nice padding throughout and will keep the items safe from bumps and dings but as stated earlier and many others on Amazon it is big for most small size cameras. You can surely put this case to good use, it is cheap as long as you purchase with your $25 or more orders on Amazon.

Bigger than it looks!,

This camera case is reasonably well made and has the limited features one expects in the price range. It is black nylon with Velcro closures for both the top flap and the beltloop on the back. The zippered storage compartment for accessories and flash cards that sits just under the top flap is itself almost big enough to hold my son's Canon SD1000. The main compartment is so big that my Canon S90, not the smallest P&S camera, kinda swims in it. I think it may be big enough for a G11, but I didn't check. Just for the fun of it, I have posted a video of me inserting my S90 in a Canon case (old one for my S400) and subsequently putting both into the ABUCC.
So, enough ranting about how big it is. How well does it work? Pros: * Sturdy, well padded. * Black, which I like because it doesn't show the inevitable grime that happens when you use something like this a lot. * Closures actually hold well. * Has a belt loop. * Zippered front accessory pouch. Cons: * It's bigger than most of us need for our pocketable point and shoots. I think this will end up having me go back to keeping my S90 in my pocket. * The belt loop has the convenience feature of a velcro closure, but this makes it able to be ripped off by a street thief. I also don't know how long the Velcro will keep its aggressive hold on the beltloop if you use this method for putting the case on and off a lot. I would have preferred a standard permanent mount for the loop. Summary: You should check out the dimensions (Interior is about 5" x 3" x 1.5") of this case vs. your camera before purchasing because it is likely your modern digital camera is too small for it.

Not Much in the Looks Department, but a Good, Basic Camera Case,
By

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This universal black camera case is very basic and has zero style, but gets the job done. The case is padded, has a flap that covers the camera and a front zip pocket. The zip pocket can hold a SD card & extra batteries.
My Canon Powershot A590 fits easily into this camera case. The Powershot is 3.75"W, 2.25"L & 1.5"D. There is another 1" (just under) to spare on the length for a slightly larger camera. The case can even accommodate a slightly wider camera too. It does have a belt loop, but you'd look like a total nerd if you wore this bigger camera case on your belt. If you want to protect your camera, this case is a good case for the price point. If you want style, look elsewhere. Made in China. One Year Limited U.S. Warranty for the original purchaser. |
