Death Country,
By Daniel Lakens (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) - See all my reviews

Death Country, that is the label pasted on this band, but if this is death country, then Mahler is Death Classic. This is a country band, but then a low and dark one. Especially the more up tempo songs like Second Sun and Wolfgang are worth listening to, although the banjo playing is a joy to listen to in every song. Really. Check it out!

buy this record!,

If you like roots, alt-country, or bluegrass, this record is for you! Wonderful, pretty vocal melodies/harmonies with a slight edge to them. Foot stompin' good time! Music to drink whiskey by!

regrets,

My title is in reference to NOT buying this album when I saw them live! Their set was unwaveringly boogie-ful. I thought to myself, "I will definitely buy this album when I get back (to the US)," but they hadn't released it yet.DO NOT PASS UP A CHANCE TO SEE EB LIVE! i saw them at Folk on the Rocks 2008, at Yellowknife, NWT.
