I guess I'm the only one of the current reviewers who was hoping Amberen's claims on libido enhancement were true. As my title suggests, Amberen does not deliver in this department which is why I'm on Amazon today researching a new supplement.
I'm 52 and have been experiencing hot flashes and a steady reduction in libido for the last two years. So with much hope and after doing alot of reading about the product, I purchased Amberen and used it religiously for the 90 days. (I've since learned that alot of the sites promoting 'review's were actually affiliate sites. Be mindful of this when looking for reviews.) However, I've learned you can pretty much trust (with the usual wary eye) Amazon reviews.
It's important to note that the 30 day guarantee is meaningless since they push/encourage you to take it for 90 days in order to receive full benefit (but if you're not satisfied after 90 days, no refund). I called the company after 25 days and told them that I wasn't getting the results I was expecting and that was the answer I got. So I hung in there for the additional 65 days.
After 90 days, I noticed elimination of hot flashes and night sweats. However, immediately after product ran out, hot flashes returned. That 90 day residual effect that they've reported is sheer B.S., at least in my case.
No change or increase in the libidio whatsoever! Hot flashes I don't mind so much. Loss of sex drive, that's driving me bonkers! Who's got a supplement that works for that?

I have taken 2 regimens of Amberen and I am amazed at the success of the product on my hot flashes. We are talking a half dozen flashes at night and easily twice that during the day. (burning body, sweat drippping down my forehead and cheeks--and I do mean dripping!) I could not believe it , but Amberen brought me relief!! Total relief! All flashes--GONE! I took it for 3 months and was 2 months off and went on again as the flashes returned. I am about to enter my off period and I do hope that it lasts longer than 2 months because I am a healthy woman otherwise and not a "pill popper". I have no other annoying meno-symptoms, so I would rather not take anything. It is an amazing product.
My only complaint and why I did not give Amberen 5 stars is the price. I think it's pretty expensive. But my oh my, the relief it brings is priceless!

I started using this on July 9th and by July 23 started with itchy hives from this formula. It took weeks to discover that it was the Amberen that was causing the hives, so I continued to take it, even in a double dosage, as recommended by the company, as it was not relieving the hot flashes very quickly. By the time I made my discovery, my heart was beating irregularly and I had hives all over by body and was not able to sleep due to the itching. It's seven weeks later, I am only now starting to make a recovery using a liver detoxification and acupuncture and after seeing four doctors. It has been hellish to say the least. The neurotoxin MSG fires the cells until the cell dies, it can accumulate in your body and you could become allergic, as I did. MSG is in all packaged foods, fast foods, vegetarian food and in over 25 hidden names. It is a toxin - a nerve poison. Google it for more information. I have never experienced ANY allergy from anything before this. It has been a long, torturous nightmare! If you decide to try it, be very careful. As for me the hot flashes no longer seem like a problem after this:)
