5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible release from one of the greatest in ambient music, August 18, 2000
By
Jean-François Prémont (Ancienne-Lorette, Québec Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ambiant Otaku (Audio CD)
This incredible ambient album had been released in 1994 and was 500 copies limited. The music showcase the amazing talents of Japaneese- Tetsu Inoue and is well worth its reissue last April. What we have here is haunting and contemplative atmospherics mixed with field source recordings and sparse percussion. The slow building atmosphere leads to awesome soundscapes and dreamy textures.Minimalistic, environmental and innovative sounds are only some of the adjectives worth describing this record : they don't make ambient albums like this one nowadays.A must for those who like FAX and the Pete Namlook posse.

Afterwards, you might wanna check two other outstanding ambient releases:"World receiver"/by Tetsu and Monolake:"Gobi the desert" as well. They're both in the similar vein and framework....

5.0 out of 5 stars my god its full of stars, October 15, 2003
This review is from: Ambiant Otaku (Audio CD)
This cd will send you to outspace via your inner space. In no small way this is the most powerful ambient album every released to date. The lack of popularity of this cd is only due to the original limited release and re-release. In the ambient world this is a seminal album has influenced many great artist and should provide a launching pad for many more future geniuses to move us into ever more exciting spaces. You own it to yourself to seek out and listen to this cd. Who knows where it might take you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasent Frequencies, August 2, 2001
This review is from: Ambiant Otaku (Audio CD)
Ambiant Otaku is one of the most inviting ambient albums. Each piece is typically long (10-15 min. +) and radiates some of the most magnificent and charged chords I've experienced. Holy Dance is brilliant as is Karmic Light yet the journey catches expectations way off guard.

A striking and somewhat spiritual effort by the ambient master Tetsu Inoue.
