Perfect deep relaxation,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ambience Minimus (Audio CD)
I was so very glad when I heard this music. Finally there was something that could ease my tension and bring the peace of mind I have been looking for. The music on this cd is so simple and yet it just completely washes away the outside world. As for the inside world, my kids calm down and could anything be as beautiful as that? I really can't recommend this music enough. I am going to give a copy to everyone I know that has any tension in their life.

This is one of the most exquisitely beautiful CDs I have ever heard. It is floating and sensuous, yet lush and sustaining. It can be used to drift to another world, to meditate, to relax, or to soothe your cat when it's recovering from surgery.

Superior Ambient/Atmospheric Music,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ambience Minimus (Audio CD)
If you like TRUE ambient music with a hint of light space music, then this composition is a direct hit. No dark synthesizers, but a wonderful, floating melodious voyage in the clouds where breezes are calm and cool. If you're looking for a beat, you won't find it here. The music is designed to wind you down, not crank you up. Not a five star only because its four tracks are somewhat indistinguishable to an untrained ear like mine. A great addition to any collection that includes the likes of Serrie, Bowles, Geodesium, or Braheny. Relax and enjoy!

Yes! What I was looking for....,

I had been looking for another CD to play during meditation that was similar to Awakened Mind by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson, and I finally found one I like. The Awakened Mind was so great because of the "entraining" of sounds and also because it didn't have a predictable melody--you could just experience it and go with the flow. (I find it hard to meditate without some kind of music or ambient sounds due to the tinnitus in my ears--the joy of being over the hill!)
I have the Chakra Suite CD by Steven Halpern, which I enjoy, and also Ancient Echoes by Halpern and Georgia Kelly (which I'm not as crazy about--I'm afraid a little of Halpern goes a long way.) Reiki: The Light Touch by Merlin's Magic is pretty nice, although there is a repeating melody throughout, so I have been searching for something that has those deep bass notes that are sustained while the more ethereal high notes sound over them, and this CD has them. Others have complained a bit about the wind chimes, but to be truthful I probably wouldn't have noticed them--that's kind of what I hear all the time anyway! All in all a very soothing CD that I think I will be able to enjoy and meditate with quite often. There are four tracks so one could listen to just one for a quick bit of relaxation or the whole CD if time permits.

Minimal synthesizer chords that are held for about 10 seconds, and then morph into the next chord. This goes on for over an hour. There is no rhythm, no discernable time signature, and nothing remotely approaching melody. Sound boring? Guess again. The chord changes are very diverse and progress in interesting ways. Sometimes soft major chords will drift into one another, sometimes they will morph into dissonant minor chords, only to be resolved in a few seconds by shifting into another pleasing chord. The overall effect is one of tension and release, repeated over and over, and produces a state of relaxation and calm. Play this to soothe your infant, or after a hard day at work. I defy you to stay awake through the whole CD. This album will cure insomnia, and I mean that as a compliment.

One of the best Liquid Mind albums, which is saying a lot. Perhaps if you like Enya, Orb or Deep Forest, this won't do it for you (though frankly, I find Orb and Deep Forest to be New Age Brittney Spears). But if you are the kind of person who feels music with your spirit instead of your brain, this album will move you deeply, and transport you to the infinite. It is almost impossible to stay stressed while this is playing, until the last two minutes when you know that it is about to end.Magical.

Good spacy Eno Style ambient,
This review is from: Ambient Minimus (Audio CD)
This is a great cd, not the best I have heard but a nice, dreamy cd. I do think the windchimes are just a tad overdone.
However I must point out that one of the users below said that this isn't good an instead to listen too "the Orb, Enya, Deep Forest or Dead Can Dance instead" None of those artists are real ambient, If you like Brian Eno, Biosphere, or even Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works v.2 Then this will be your style. It never ceases to amaze me how many "ambient" fans don't even know what ambient is.

Brain Massage,

Four generous tracks of angelic layers of interwoven ethereal cloudscapes. One part new age one part ambient. A very satisfying massage of your frontal lobe. Indeed you will feel somehow lighter after playing this. Yet not the kind of music to "listen" to but rather play in the background for daily mind liquification. Best of all the Liquid Mind projects. This is not "minimalist" music as the title suggests. It is cleanly produced yet avoids the error of overproduction.

how can you rate ambient music???,

First of all, Liquid Mind is up at the top along with Souther, Alpha Wave Movement...even the Ozrics bent. I cut my teeth on Cage, Eno, Zappa, the whole Prog thing...spent many nights in the 70's and 80's surrounded by my friend's Sansui system, candles, bongs and such listening to Soft Machine, Henry Cow, Brand X, Hatfield and the North, Gong, Camel, Caravan...Gentle Giant. We also listened to Chick Corea, Mahavishnu, Jeff Beck, Jean Luc Ponty (hash is highly recommended for JLP) and yes...I did check out the Pink Floyd/Wizard Of Oz connection.
I played in a Creedence Cover band in High School and when I first listened to Supper's Ready, I never went back. I read the short blurts from the two who chose to step into the review arena on this venture of LM's and I've got to wonder...why bother? I can't seem to qualify ambient music because the genre serves a different intent than performance music. Therefore, it exists as an entirely different artform for listening...free from judgement.

I use this product for massage background music. All Liquid Mind Series work well for massage purposes. After purchasing the entire series, I realized you really only needed 1 or 2 of this style.
