just wow., June 3, 2008
This review is from: Ambient Baseball ScoreCast (Electronics)
The irony of the modern workplace is ubiquitous connectivity, but limited access. It's hard to keep up with an afternoon game without appearing to be a slacker or actually violating policy. That's where ScoreCast comes in. Track any game - get live updates every inning - and get schedules and standings, too. The best part about the product is the seemingly magical way it gets data from Ambient. No wifi or PC connection is ever needed. Just add batteries (4 AA) and get the signal. Super easy. If you live "out of market" and can't easily track your favorite team, or if like me you find that announcers never provide score updates frequently enough, this product is for you - You can easily see the score for any game in progress - without the hassle of channel surfing or keeping a PC in the living room. This is a unique product that any baseball fan will truly enjoy!

Reliable technology, September 18, 2008
This review is from: Ambient Baseball ScoreCast (Electronics)
Purchased as a gift, but did alot of research before hand. [...] From reading PDFs posted on their site, the scores are sent via 900mhz pager network. Very reliable, sturdy technology. All the towers in one area/region multicast a data signal, then another new data burst every 15 minutes or so, which updates the scores and info on your ScoreCast. Cloudy days, being inside buildings, and other factors that would block a satellite signal should not affect the ScoreCast. 900mhz has very good building penetration. Flat out, it works. No channels to surf, no complex settings to deal with, and no monthly subscription fees.

Great product. but..., September 22, 2009
This review is from: Ambient Baseball ScoreCast (Electronics)
This is a great product, but the signal strength has some issues, I live in a metropolitan area and haven't gotten more than 2 bars...The instructions say wait 6 hours for the scorecast to synchronize originally, mine took about 24 hours...Would have given 4.5 stars if able.
