The Ambient Medium, A Play About Nikola Tesla, by Martha Keltz. This long oneact play with a cast of 5 depicts Teslas office and laboratory at the foot of Pikes Peak near Colorado Springs, Colorado. The year is 1899 and Tesla and his assistant Czito are preparing for a potentially dangerous experiment with a goal towards utilizing what Tesla calls "the greatest visible power of the ambient medium." During the few hours of repose before the experiment, Tesla is visited by Joseph Dozier, a carpenter, and a young girl, Julie Stevens. When the great experiment fails, Tesla has a spiritual visitor....

About the Author

Martha Keltz is a prolific playwright and illustrator with many years of experience as a producer and director in small theaters; she has also had many plays produced. Ms. Keltz's work is filled with spiritual dimension or metaphysical content, and ranges from fables to fairy tale adaptations to historic/biographical studies, and to contemporary full length, one act and ten minute plays with themes that dramatize the search for and discovery of higher spiritual realities.

Other works include A Maya Trilogy (about the archaeologists Augustus Le Plongeon and Alice Le Plongeon); Three Unusual Scientists: John Keely, Nikola Tesla and Walter Russell; and A Twentieth Century Trilogy (about Wellesley Tudor Pole).
