This digital thermometer is an excellent addition to one's pool. It is half the cost of similar products currently on the market. Within a couple of minutes it is up and running in your pool - very easy set-up. Accuracy is within product's specifications of± 2°F as verified with a bulb thermometer and a thermocouple. My unit is less than one-half of a degree off. Radio transmission works as advertised, even receive a signal (temperature reading) in upstairs bedroom in front of house; approx. 200 ft. with walls and floor in-between . The thermometer tethers easy to stationary object like a step out rail. The only recommendation I would have in future models is to lengthen the cone so the unit is more resistant to being sucked into the skimmer if untethered.

The only problem is that the display will get foggy. I solved this by keeping a bag of rice next to the spa. When it starts getting foggy, I put it in the rice for a couple of days. It clears up and good to go.

My wife was joking around when she said she would like to know the temperature of the water in the lake. We are both avid swimmers, and want to know if the lake is warm enough. She was suprised that I found something that would let her know from the house, what the lakes temp is. The unit was extremely easy to set up. Put the batteries in the transponder, dropped it in the lake. Then went to the house, put the batteries in the receiver, and within minutes they were communicating. I checked the acuracy of the unit in the water and it was within 1/2 degree of a pool thermometer. The transmitter also has a digital display, so you know what the temp is right there on the spot. The receiver was within several 10ths of the transmitter. Very happy with the product, looks nice, both units. We are about 100yds from the lake, and up a hill, and have had no communications problems. It is well worth the money.

Works great!
Setup was very easy. It took about 5 minutes to get it up and running. Temperature readings are accurate. I liked it so much I gave one to a friend who just built a pool.

No problems - works perfect.
Took about 10 minutes to get up and running but 5 minutes of that was finding a screw to mount the display on a patio post. That was 2 months ago. Read more

Stopped working after 2 weeks.

Great Gadget
