Book Description

Ambiguous Relationship (Yaoi Manga)
Satoru is used to being alone. Ever since high school, he has lived his life without anyone else. Then one rainy night he encounters a stranded stranger. Taking him in, he unexpectedly finds that being alone is not what he wants at all, and that what he wants may just be within his grasp. But does Reiji feel the same way? And will Reiji's family accept it when they discover where he is? A selection of angsty romance stories by master mangaka Masara Minase, published in English for the very first time!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty enjoyable collection. February 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It has been a long time since this mangaka's last English licensed work. This is an anthology of 6 stories, some of them much earlier works which the mangaka admits at the end. So it is easy to see improvement in her clean lined artwork through the years. All the stories are light and pretty enjoyable and of younger semes with older ukes, except for one. I don't really have a favorite. For me, two of the stories stand out more than others. "More than a Child, not Quite an Adult" is cute when a kid grows to love his long time pediatrician. Now that he is all tall and grown up he of course wants more. "Sweet Restraint" is the only story with an older seme and this one is a little twisted. A pretty enjoyable collection but each story is just too short. I wish her other works are licensed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth a read, but I wish I hadn't bought it April 13, 2012
Format:Paperback
As stated by the previous reviewer, this is a collection of very short stories. Without giving anything away, the title of the book is relevant for each of the uke/seme pairings. The relationship are maybe a little untraditional, if not somewhat uneasy. The resolution to each story seems rushed, and the stories are cute but not long enough to develop the relationships of each pairing, so it' hard to feel anything about the various relationships in Ambigous Relationhip. I did like how each relationship was a bit unconventional, and I would love to see what the author could do with a longer work. This book isn't bad overall, but it's not sexy enough or engaging enough to leave anything but a faint impression. I did like her art style and character design.

2.0 out of 5 stars Defective manga... June 2, 2013
Format:Paperback
The stories were not great but they were good enough to be entertained. However,
the manga copy I received was defective. Two stories were repeated and one
was left unfinished. Beware this may happen to you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hard to read it backwards September 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I don't like reading comic book styled stories. It is really confusing and the print was so small that I had to where magnified glasses and it needs to be read backwards. This author seems to really get off on rape because really that is how each story goes. The only thing I did like was that there were pictures. Pretty cool since I don't ever remember reading a picture book for me. I did for the kids but that is different.
