Wale’s confidence was never shaken. After going through trials and tribulations that would have doomed the careers of lesser MCs, the Maybach Music Group rapper is prepping to drop his highly anticipated sophomore album, Ambition, on November 1. Proudly wearing his Washington, DC badge on his sleeve, along with his penchant for witty wordplay and crafty ... Read more in Amazon's Wale Store

I originally bought this CD for my teenage daughter. After her playing it, I fell in love with the CD. I am not a fan of urban music however this CD had me humming tunes.

Good music. Hip Hop is not dead though it took a wrong turn in the late 90's

4.0 out of 5 stars An Outstanding Second Album for Wale November 5, 2011
By Chris
Format:Audio CD
I've never been a huge Wale fan, Attention Deficit was decent, but I could never really get into it. I wasn't really paying much attention to this album when it was released, especially after hearing "Lotus Flower Bomb" was the lead single for the album, but after hearing songs like "Ambition", "Focused", and "Miami Nights", I knew this album was something special.
1. Don't Hold Your Applause: 5/5 This is a great way to start the album, I love the overall feel of the song, how its almost like his flow comes naturally to the song. The hook is also great.
2. Double M Genius: 2/5 And we get the low point of the album out of the way quickly, Wale's flow is great like usual, but the song just feels messy and the hook almost seems like they didn't try.
3. Miami Nights: 5/5 This is one of the most underrated songs on the album, the horns in the background give the song a different feel from anything else in the album, and it manages to be one of the highlights of the album.
4. Legendary: 4/5 Its not incredible by any means, but its a good song. Simply put. Interesting hook.
5. Lotus Flower Bomb: 3/5 There was one big thing I hated about this song and "That Way" and that's how slow and boring it is. The beat is good, but it'll put you to sleep soon. I'm not a fan of the hook.
6. Chain Music: 5/5 This is a nice little upbeat, almost bouncy track. I like how he incorporated Rick Ross into it. I'm not really sure why, but this is one of my favorite track on this album.
7. Focused: 4/5 This is an absolutely fantastic track, the only problem I have with it is they didn't use Cudi to the fullest extent they could have. Kid Cudi has a crazy good and original voice, and the fact they auto-tuned it so much was kind of disappointing. Other than that, its an outstanding track.
