5.0 out of 5 stars ., January 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Ambrose and His Orchestra 1929 - 1930 (Audio CD)
The eccentric Andre Popp worked as a composer and orchestra leader for French radio in the 1950's and 60's. His richly layered recordings, full of unexpected twists and turns, were spiked with playful experiments in tape manipulation and featured exotic instruments like the Ondes Martenot and the musical saw. His evocative pieces echo Nino Rota, one of his contemporaries. _La Musique Qui Fait Popp_ features 21 elegant vignettes from 1952-1965 faithfully recreated by the Dutch Metropole Orchestra (with a few of the Beau Hunks).

1.0 out of 5 stars Re-popped Popp, October 29, 2005
This review is from: Ambrose and His Orchestra 1929 - 1930 (Audio CD)
Warning! This CD does not contain Andre Popp recordings! These are works by Andre Popp recorded by someone else. Wait to get the real thing. Delirium in Hi-Fi is an actual Popp recording and is wonderful. Musique Qui Fait Popp is no where near the wonder of Delirium. Get Delirium, not this.
