4.0 out of 5 stars Great for softer cheeses
I've had one of these for 6 months and love it. I use a grater or cheese plane for harder cheeses, but where this gadget shines is in the softer cheeses, like muenster, havarti, or port salut.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke after one month
I was pleased when I bought this item. It works great, but after just one month the plastic on the tip of the cutter broke and the wires would no longer stay in place. I had to toss it.

I recently purchased a three wire cheese slicer.
At first it worked great till the black plastic end piece broke, making one of the wires loose which makes that portion on the cheese slicer worthless . When it did work it was a real nice slicer, but I feel this is a manufactuer defect. As stated by a prior reviewer, we both had the same thing happen...... hummmm sounds like they need to replace mine and hers , currently I'm trying to find an address so that I may send mine back and get a replacement for the faulty cheese slicer i bought I'll let you know about the customer service when they get back to me.
If I were buying a cheese slicer right now I'd have to pass on this model and company. I only had mine for two months and it broke I'd have to spend my money on a different one next time unless they replace it every time it breaks that we will wait and see if that happens. If they do replace it I'd have to give it more stars..... but currently I give it a single star due to the faulty manufacturing

1.0 out of 5 stars Shoddy at Best, July 8, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Amco 10167 Tri-Cut Cheese Slicer (Kitchen)
This cheese slicer seemed appealing, considering that you have the ability to slice at three widths. However, after using the slicer for less than two weeks, on of the wires broke the plastic cap at the top, rendering it useless. I would highly recommend not purchasing this slicer and opting for one without cheap plastic parts.

I've had one of these for 6 months and love it. I use a grater or cheese plane for harder cheeses, but where this gadget shines is in the softer cheeses, like muenster, havarti, or port salut.

The center cylinder turns, and rolls along the cheese surface, so the cheese doesn't stick. With any other slicer and most knives, these soft sticky cheeses adhere to the cutting surface, and you end up with a cheese blob, and a mutilated block of cheese. With this device you get clean slices every time.

The shape lets you cut along almost any part of the cheese surface. It's kid-friendly, dishwasher-safe, and durable enough to cut most medium-hard cheeses like cheddar or swiss.

I like it enough to have bought a few for friends or guests, who always want to know where I got it.

This is a great product. It slices very consistently. I have had it for 4 years and am just now replacing the wires. We use weekly if not daily.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Amco Cheese slicer!!, January 23, 2008
This review is from: Amco 10167 Tri-Cut Cheese Slicer (Kitchen)
I purchased this cheese slicer 4 years ago, and am soo peased!. I use it on any kind of cheese, unless it's a very hard cheese. I must say, I couldn't be happier! I never had any trouble with it (and I do a LOT of cooking), and my friends like it so much they want their own. I would say the only bad thing about this is that you can't find them in stores around here! I will definitely buy another one if this one ever does break.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amco Cheese Slicer, March 25, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Amco 10167 Tri-Cut Cheese Slicer (Kitchen)
This is the most functional cheese slices I have ever had. The center rolls as the wire moves through the cheese, preventing sticking. Three thickness choices are perfect. Clean up is easy. I love, love, love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful cheese slicer, March 3, 2009
This review is from: Amco 10167 Tri-Cut Cheese Slicer (Kitchen)
It seems like if this cheese slicer doesn't break, people love it. I personally have had this cheese slicer for 2 or 3 years and it has been old faithful. I don't slice cheese THAT often so perhaps if I did, it wouldn't be as durable. However, in light of the fact that I love it and have had no problems with it, I have to give it 5 stars.

After about a week of use the wires stretch. It is still usable but it indicates the slicer is not designed for the long haul.
