Product Description

Amazon.com Review

The six measuring spoons in this set range in size from a pinch to 1 tablespoon, with 1/8 teaspoon, 1/4 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, and 1 teaspoon in between. With square edges, the spoons' distinctive shapes are perfect for fitting into the corners of square-sided spice jars. Essential tools for all cooks, the spoons are made of thick, 18/8 stainless steel for durability and easy cleaning in the dishwasher. They detach from their storage ring for use and may be reattached and stored in a drawer or hung them from a hook or peg. --Fred Brack

Product Description

The six measuring spoons included in this set (pinch, 1/8 teaspoon, 1/4 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, 1 teaspoon, 1 tablespoon) are made of sturdy 18/8 stainless steel. Their unique square-shaped well is narrower than many rounded spoons and can access the openings and get into the corners of smaller spice jars. The square theme is carried through to the connecting "ring" that holds the spoons as a set. The spoons are dishwasher-safe.

This is the most solid set of measuring spoons, I've ever owned.

YOU CAN NEVER OWN ENOUGH MEASURING SPOONS:
Invariably, one set is in the dishwasher, and the size you want to measure dry ingredients in, you just measured wet stuff in. Must be a Chef Murphy's law.

DURABLE SET:
These are one solid set of spoons. They are heavy. If you catch one in the drawer it will not bend. You may have to repair your drawer instead. These definitely are made to last.

THEY ARE LARGE, NOT ALL WILL FIT IN SPICE CONTAINERS:

TABLESPOON WILL NOT FIT IN SPICE CONTAINERS; GLASS OR METAL:
The tablespoon measure, the largest is a full 7-1/2" from the tip of the bowl to the end of the handle.
This spoon, will not go in spice containers metal (1/2 to 1-1/2 oz size with a oval with a flat opening) or glass (Spice Islands 1.6oz size). This spoon is 1-3/16 inch wide and 5/8" deep. It is both too wide and deep.

TEASPOON WILL NOT FIT IN METAL SPICE CONTAINERS BUT WILL FIT IN GLASS ONES:
This spoon measures 6-1/2 inches from the tip of the bowl to the end of the handle. It measures 1-1/16" wide and 1/2" deep. It will fit in the glass (Spice Islands 1.6 oz size)containers, but not the metal ones (1/2 to 1-1/2 oz size with a oval with a flat opening). It is too deep but not too wide for the metal containers.

1/2, 1/4, 1/8 TEASPOON AND PINCH WILL FIT IN BOTH METAL AND GLASS CONTAINERS:
Their measurements are:
1/2 tsp: 6-1/8" long, 3/4" wide, 3/8" deep
1/4 tsp: 5-7/8" long, 5/8" wide, 5/16" deep
1/8 tsp: 5-7/8" long, 1/2" wide, 1/8" deep
pinch: 5-1/2" long, 7/16" wide, 3/16" deep
Hey, maybe you don't want all the detail, but if you do, They're here.

LONG HANDLES MAKE GETTING THAT LAST BIT OF SPICE EASIER TO GET. Anyone who's fumbled with the aluminum-short-handled measuring spoons can sympathize. It is a contortionist nightmare even trying to get that last bit of spice out of a container into a spoon that is too short.

THIS IS ONE SERIOUS LOOKING SET:
If you are a beginning cook and unsure of your abilities, here's a set that will make you feel just that little bit more seasoned.
Definitely, not beginner looking spoons....

All in all a great set, but I wish the Tablespoon and Teaspoon, two sizes I use the most of, had narrower and longer bowls so they would fit in the spice containers. This is the only reason they got a 4 instead of a 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome set of measuring spoons, June 25, 2000

This review is from: Amco Pyramid Measuring Spoons (Kitchen)
This set of measuring spoons is the last set I feel I will ever need to buy. They are made of stainless steel and dishwasher safe. Even includes a pinch size. They are skinny enough to fit into spice bottles and such. I am not sure how I measured things before I obtained this set. No kitchen should be without it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy but, November 23, 2001

These are nice and sturdy so they don't bend. The shape fits in most spice bottles and tins. I separated them because they're a little heavy. The only thing I don't like about them is that the square handles dig into your hands. They should have rounded the handles.
