4.0 out of 5 stars Solid spoons, won't get cloudy, rust or melt
This is the most solid set of measuring spoons, I've ever owned.

YOU CAN NEVER OWN ENOUGH MEASURING SPOONS:
Invariably, one set is in the dishwasher, and the size you want to measure dry ingredients in, you just measured wet stuff in. Must be a Chef Murphy's law.

DURABLE SET:
These are one solid set of spoons. They are heavy. If you catch one in the drawer...

2.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Finished...
I was attracted to their angular design but was disappointed by their poor finish. The brand name and size is stamped onto each spoon and the stamping shows clear to the other side in a very uneven and unintended way. The polishing, too, is inferior with dark and light patches. Other measuring spoons, also made in China, are so well made and finished that I can give this...

If you catch one in the drawer it will not bend. You may have to repair your drawer instead. These definitely are made to last.

THEY ARE LARGE, NOT ALL WILL FIT IN SPICE CONTAINERS:

TABLESPOON WILL NOT FIT IN SPICE CONTAINERS; GLASS OR METAL:
The tablespoon measure, the largest is a full 7-1/2" from the tip of the bowl to the end of the handle.
This spoon, will not go in spice containers metal (1/2 to 1-1/2 oz size with a oval with a flat opening) or glass (Spice Islands 1.6oz size). This spoon is 1-3/16 inch wide and 5/8" deep. It is both too wide and deep.

TEASPOON WILL NOT FIT IN METAL SPICE CONTAINERS BUT WILL FIT IN GLASS ONES:
This spoon measures 6-1/2 inches from the tip of the bowl to the end of the handle. It measures 1-1/16" wide and 1/2" deep. It will fit in the glass (Spice Islands 1.6 oz size)containers, but not the metal ones (1/2 to 1-1/2 oz size with a oval with a flat opening). It is too deep but not too wide for the metal containers.

1/2, 1/4, 1/8 TEASPOON AND PINCH WILL FIT IN BOTH METAL AND GLASS CONTAINERS:
Their measurements are:
1/2 tsp: 6-1/8" long, 3/4" wide, 3/8" deep
1/4 tsp: 5-7/8" long, 5/8" wide, 5/16" deep
1/8 tsp: 5-7/8" long, 1/2" wide, 1/8" deep
pinch: 5-1/2" long, 7/16" wide, 3/16" deep
Hey, maybe you don't want all the detail, but if you do, They're here.

LONG HANDLES MAKE GETTING THAT LAST BIT OF SPICE EASIER TO GET. Anyone who's fumbled with the aluminum-short-handled measuring spoons can sympathize. It is a contortionist nightmare even trying to get that last bit of spice out of a container into a spoon that is too short.

THIS IS ONE SERIOUS LOOKING SET:
If you are a beginning cook and unsure of your abilities, here's a set that will make you feel just that little bit more seasoned.
Definitely, not beginner looking spoons....

All in all a great set, but I wish the Tablespoon and Teaspoon, two sizes I use the most of, had narrower and longer bowls so they would fit in the spice containers. This is the only reason they got a 4 instead of a 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome set of measuring spoons, June 25, 2000

This set of measuring spoons is the last set I feel I will ever need to buy. They are made of stainless steel and dishwasher safe. Even includes a pinch size. They are skinny enough to fit into spice bottles and such. I am not sure how I measured things before I obtained this set. No kitchen should be without it.

These are nice and sturdy so they don't bend. The shape fits in most spice bottles and tins. I separated them because they're a little heavy. The only thing I don't like about them is that the square handles dig into your hands. They should have rounded the handles.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite set of measuring spoons, January 31, 2004

I love not only the aesthetic design, but the engineering of these spoons. The end of the handle bends downward, leveling the instrument so that the spoon doesn't tip over and spill any of its contents while on the countertop. The main reason I bought the set was to have the stable 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 tsp and pinch measurements consistent with an entire set. I do wish the larger sizes fit into spice bottles, but frankly I don't find the round spoons to do a very good job of that, either. Ovoids and oblongs are the only shapes that I find do a good job inside spice bottles. I have all shapes because they do differnt jobs, but the level engineering of these is a lifesaver. To the customer to received a thin set in which the stamp shows through, I'd send it back; I think you got a lemon. I've had mine several years, so perhaps they're made more cheaply now, but mine are great. If I had my dream set of 15, however, it would include the following measurements by ONE manufacturer, color-coded for ease of recognition, they would come in a round set, an ovoid set, and an oblong or pyramid set, and I'd get all 3 sets:

2 Tbsp (1/8 cup)
3/4 Tbsp
1 Tbsp
1/2 Tbsp
1 tsp (1/3 Tbsp)
1/4 Tbsp
3/4 tsp
2/3 tsp
1/2 tsp
1/3 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/8 tsp
1/16 tsp
1/32 tsp
1/64 tsp
The Container Store sells a set listing drop, pinch, smidge, and hint, which I guess are the last 4 I listed, but I don't know that. I ended up with a set saying "tad, pinch, smidge and hint," but at least one of them is bigger than 1/4 tsp.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Finished..., August 20, 2003

The brand name and size is stamped onto each spoon and the stamping shows clear to the other side in a very uneven and unintended way. The polishing, too, is inferior with dark and light patches. Other measuring spoons, also made in China, are so well made and finished that I can give this item only 2 stars for its (possibly) elegant design.
I recommend the Oxo measuring spoon set for the lovely combination of rubber and stainless-steel or the Endurance Spice Spoons made by RSVP if you are attracted to the rectilinear look.
