5.0 out of 5 stars Our Favorite Kitchen Tool!
This is hands down the best spatula on the market. It is very thin, yet extremely strong. The angle of the handle is perfect. We owned one for years, and after using it daily, it broke. We purchased three more, and often find we are using them all simultaneously. If I could only have one tool in the kitchen, this would be the one we'd pick.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Spatula!, July 28, 2000

If you have trouble burning your hand when trying to remove an egg from a hot frying pan, then wave good-bye the burns unit at your local hospital.

The Amco Stainless Steel and Nylon Rectangular Spatula with its space age design is the only thing I use when removing my egg.

With its sleek handle and large head, Amco have created the envy of all spatula makers. The Ferrari of its class.

This spatula is great. I had one for several years and just ordered another one. It is sturdy and has held up really well.

This is a fantastic spatula. We've only been using it for about a month now, but it immediately earned its place as the ONLY spatula used in our kitchen. While we try to use natural utensils for cooking (metals, bamboo, wood), a plastic spatula still seems to be a staple requirement for many tasks. As a stay at home mother of a rambunctious toddler, my wife continues to somehow manage to cook and bake multiple items at once with one arm, while saving the toddler from his latest interesting idea with the other. As a result, she's often propped a spatula on the side of a skillet momentarily to grab the kiddo, only to return seconds later to a handle that has melted onto the cookware.

Even though these melting incidents create only a tiny scar on our old spatulas, it is irritating, unsightly, and deeply troubling. As parents devoted to simple organic cooking and products, having melted plastic (and the resulting fumes) anywhere near our consumables is a major concern. Herein lies the problem: Plastic spatulas cannot be rested on cookware while in use, but metal spatulas cannot safely be used with Teflon or environmentally friendlier nonstick surfaces.

And the Amco Nylon Slotted Spatula is the perfect hybrid solution. With this spatula, we're able to rest the utensil without melting the handle, without compromising our nonstick surfaces. Further, the nylon itself seems to be both thin AND durable. The spatula turns food with a clean edge, and shows no signs of breaking down along the front edge -- a symptom I've seen with nearly every other plastic spatula.

This is a great spatula, and I highly recommend it. Of course, the spatula edge WILL eventually wear out, and when it shows signs of wear, we'll replace it. But at this price, that's okay.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, December 20, 2011

I can't really add to what others have said. I bought one of these 12 years ago and use it daily. It barely has any scratches and I use it to scrape the pan after making an omelette. It's rigid through to the tip and feels good in the hand.

This is the best spatual for non-stick pans I have ever owned. Not flimsy like some. I bought mine in Feb 2011 and will be buying another for my daughter

Personally, I like it except, it would be nice if the handle had a grip. My big hands find it a little small. Now, my wife, doesn't like it at all. She would like to see the handle being a little shorter. She thinks it awkward being so long. Guess I will have to saw the handle shorter and put a rubber handle around it.

A stout steel handle with a nice, useful-shape nylon spatula. Very inexpensive at about $5. Much better than I'd expected for the price.
