5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection
I love to cook. I've been cooking over 30 years and have always had trouble with onion odors on my hands. I had been advised to hold a knife blade in my hand to remove the odor of onions or garlic, and I've also been advised to mix ketchup and vinegar and then apply it to my hands. Neither method worked, and the "holding-the-knife-blade" remedy is certainly not very safe...

2.0 out of 5 stars Amco Rub Away Bar
This product is really too large for the average woman's hands. I found it very awkward to use because of the size, plus I didn't like the raised letters on the bar either. I bought 4 of these as gifts and returned 3 of them. I would have returned all 4 but the seller does not accept opened items (a little plastic bag, jeesh!), so now I have this huge stainless steel...

I had been advised to hold a knife blade in my hand to remove the odor of onions or garlic, and I've also been advised to mix ketchup and vinegar and then apply it to my hands. Neither method worked, and the "holding-the-knife-blade" remedy is certainly not very safe. When I saw this stainless soap-shaped bar, I was very interested. Not only is there no sharp edge, it's also a lot less messy than the ketchup method. I highly recommend this product, and I'm glad I took a chance on it. It really works!

A handful of magic! I have used this bar on everything you could think of and it works. I raise chickens, compost worms, a garden, Tilapia fish, and composting toilets. I use the bar with a touch of antibacterial gel between every project so I kill bacteria and remove any and all odor. I could go on and on about this little wonder but simply put, it's fantastic and a great bargain that will give you years of good smelling hands.

I have a 5 year old autistic son who is not potty trained yet! Every time I change his pullup the smell is so bad on my hands and no matter how many times I wash my hands I can't get rid of the smell. He has gi problems so it not a regular poop smell...it is so much worse! It grosses me out especially if I have to cook or even eat something myself because the smell is on my hands. I was very skeptical when i bought this but it works awesome! I couldn't believe it. I thought maybe his poop didn't actually smell that bad that day. The next day when he had his bm I smelled my hands before I washed them with this to make sure of the potent smell and it was bad! After I used this bar the smell was completely gone! AMAZING! I would recommend this to everyone for all types of smells! Everyone should have one in their home!

5.0 out of 5 stars Put One in the Bathroom too!, January 27, 2011

This product works great for removing onion, garlic, and fish smells from the hands when cooking. But, I put one in each bathroom too! I figured that if it got rid of those odors that it should do a good job at taking care of smelly feet and pits! AND IT DOES!!! The fact that its shaped like a bar of soap makes it easy to grip in the shower. A little rubbing and NO B.O.; kills really strong "manfoot" odor, "ladyparts" odor and "teenpit" odor. I'll be ordering more to give as hints... I mean gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars no more smelly hands, April 3, 2009

The Amco Rub Away Bar is great. I have been using them for years. I also purchased 6 from Amazon before Christmas and gave them as gifts for some of my family members who frequently use alot of garlic and onions in there cooking. It is the only thing that removes the odors from your hands. It is a great product to have on your kitchen sink and looks real nice too. I have had many people ask me what that block of silver was, and when I tell tell it is for removing the smell of garlic, onions or fish off of your hands, all you do it run water and use it like you would a bar of soap and, WALLA! Garlic odors and onion odors are gone. They thought it was great. If you are a cook it is a must to have. No more going to bed and smelling onions on your hands all night!

I recently became allergic to aluminum and so had to start searching for a deodorant without it. Nothing is working, sometimes I just don't use anything since I don't see the point, but OMG do I stink by the end of the day. I never had to deal with this before so I was shocked when soap and water didn't even totally get rid of the stench and I tried antibacterial soaps and everything. Then I saw a show where some doctor was selling these bars for b.o. but he was selling them for something like $30. What a rip-off, so I was so happy when I found this one so cheap. But here's the thing that really made me happy...IT WORKS!! So to try it out, when I get in the shower I use no soap. I do a test sniff to see how bad the situation is (sorry if this is TMI), then I rub the bar for about ten seconds under my arm under the running water. Then I sniff again...NOTHING! Absolutely no odor whatsoever. Do the other arm, same thing. I've tried this numerous times because it fascinates me that this thing actually works..and it's the same result every time. Stinky pit...rub rub...No stinky pit. Miraculous. Now to find something that keeps the stench away between showers...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Unique Gift, December 16, 2009

Hogwash to the neysayers. This product is charming and it works. I don't have a stainless steel sink and I don't want to rub a knife on my hand. This perfectly sized bar works wonders for getting out those pesky food smells. It fits easily in your hand so you can rub between your fingers to really get to the root of the smell. I have given 10 away as gifts and everyone was delighted, but more importantly came back later to thank me for such a bright solution.

I love this little bar! Didn't think it would be nearly as effective in removing those wonderful garlic and onion smells from my hands after I finish peeling, etc. Try one if you are a cook- you will love it too!

5.0 out of 5 stars CAT ODOR AND GARLIC HANDS, June 21, 2011
By
This review is from: Amco Rub Away Bar (Kitchen)
I now own three of these bars.
They are AMAZING for garlic stink on hands.

BUT JUST IN:

My two cats have made my house stink despite their litter box being downstairs through a dog door. Saw some very expensive "just add water" steel based odor eliminator things and thought ..... So I got a nice looking (and cheap) bowl and dropped one of these bars into it filled with water, put it next to the cat box and expected to be dissapointed.

BUT NO!!!! the bar floats in the water and seems to cut the cat litter stink IN HALF! It is not a micacle cure (aka no cat smell at all), but now i don't smell cat urine when i come home. A TON cheaper than the rubber or blue glass versions and it does work!!! Wierd ....
