5.0 out of 5 stars Amco spatula
My wife loves this spatula. High quality, low price.
Someone wrote that it's weak. Ridiculous unless you're
trying to use it as a pry bar.

1.0 out of 5 stars It is melting!!! I was misleading by the reviewers.
Not recommended. Just used twice. The material melts. Very messy. Do not buy! The handle looks fine. When I first got it, I was excited. It works fine but the head melts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice construction, good value, works well, December 24, 2010

I've been looking for a turner that will allow me to flip eggs without breaking the yokes. I have a couple of very nice stainless flippers, but I usually cook eggs in a nonstick pan, so I needed something that was nonstick-safe.

I tried a flexible silicon one, but was not happy with how much it flexed. I saw this and the price was right, so gave it a shot. Plus, it qualified for the Amazon 4 for 3 promo, which made the low price even better.

Very pleased! The front edge is sharp, so I can easily get under a fried egg without any yoke damage. The extra width comes in very helpful to keep eggs from falling off.

The handle is stainless and sturdy. It's not the most comfortable handle I've used, but it does not cause a problem either. Can't speak to longevity as of yet, but so far it's been a winner.

5.0 out of 5 stars if I *had* to pick just one...., January 28, 2012
This review is from: Amco Nylon Wide Blade Spatula (Kitchen)
I actually have several turners/flippers/spatulas by Amco and if I had to pick only one this one would be it. It is really sturdy, a great shape for doing everything from eggs, to pancakes, burgers - I really can't think of much it can't handle. I've had this one five plus years and it hasn't melted; the edge may not be one hundred percent perfect anymore but still looks fairly new. Has a nice hole in the handle for hanging but this one lives in the crock right next to the stove with the "essentials".

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous for scraping fond from the skillet when deglazing the pan...., December 10, 2011

I'm about to replace this wide one with another, which I've had for years and it's finally developing a few nicks on the edge. Most who review these Amco spatulas rave about how wonderfully thin their edges are. I just want to add that as I say in my title, I always reach for this after browning meat or mushrooms or whatever, when I want to add liquid--wine, marsala, broth whatever--on high heat to scrape up the brown bits of fond on the skillet pan for the sauce. I use it 'upside down', so it flexes the edge a bit. Nothing works better.

I use this wide one in a 12" skillet, and have a narrower one for a 10" or smaller skillet for regular usage and fond scraping. SUPER!

I like the sturdiness of this spatula. Its construction and quality for an item under $6 is outstanding. It gets my recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good price for a good tool, April 19, 2011

This is my favorite flipper! The metal innards keep it from snapping and the nylon end keeps it from scratching nonstick pans. It cost a lot, but I've snapped several plastic spatulas. I won't be going back to that junk - it's penny wise, pound foolish.
