This review is from: Amco 9 Quart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl (Kitchen)
I had just ordered the 6.5 quart Amco Stainless Steel bowl so when I saw this back in stock after being unavailable for a number of weeks I ordered it right away.
Well this bowl is nothing quality wise like the 6.5 quart I received a few weeks ago. The 6.5 is heavy steel, perfectly machined and finished, no dents, scratches, etc. It has a nice Amco label and the size silk screened on the bottom. This bowl on the other hand seems thinner, is loaded with scratches and dents, the machining on the inside is horrible (it's not even smooth is some places), the metal is pitted, the logo on the bottom is not there, just some SKU sticker. The worst is there seems to be some protective coating sprayed on the bowl. To me it seems Amco has changed suppliers or this bowl is made in a different facility. Both say they are made in India. Maybe I just got a lemon, I'll be watching the reviews here to see if anyone raves about the bowl after my purchase. This one is going back.

This "12"-quart bowl only holds 8 Quarts of Water. It is made in India where perhaps it is legal to stamp a product with false measurements.Be advised that if you are trying to buy a bowl that will hold 12 Quarts; this bowl holds 8 Quarts.

I was really disappointed with the size of this bowl! It is described as having a 12 quart capacity. No way does this bowl hold 3 gallons of anything! I didn't try sending it back, though. Shame on me!!!

PERFECT MONSTER BOWL!,

This is a monster of a bowl! Although I have limited storage space in my kitchen, I wouldn't trade this for any other. It's not heavy, but quite sturdy. Mixing by hand is a pleasure now, nothing splashing up and out of the bowl anymore! :) The fact that it's not heavy makes it a pleasure to hand wash and dry quickly when it's needed again for another batch of whatever. This bowl is definitely being added to my "Favorite Kitchen Things" list!

One of those items I cannot do without after having tried it! Now my bread dough rises without overflowing, and I can knead it on the bowl while it is sticky. Easy to clean with warm water. The bowl is solidly made
and should last for years.

I bought this bowl several months ago and have since used it for cooking for very large parties and also smaller gatherings.
This bowl is of very good quality and feels solid and well made. At the same time, it isn't very heavy so it is easy to maneuver and use around the kitchen. This is definitely a very large bowl and will help you make large batches of any food: baking, marinating, etc. Pros: - Solid, sturdy design - Lightweight and manueverable - Very large and great for mixing Cons: - Large size makes it hard to store (as expected) Overall: I highly recommend this mixing bowl if you have the need to mix large quantities of food. It is great to have around the house just in case you need something large like this.

I already had the 8-quart bowl and was satisfied with it for beginning the kneading process for dough. With that size I eventually had to put the dough on the counter for the final kneading. With the 12-quart size I can do the entire kneading in the bowl and not have the counter to clean when finished. Plus it's almost large enough for a Saturday night bath.

Huge, solid and durable,

Can't say that I've actually checked to see if this truly holds 12 quarts, but it's pretty darn big and very solid - great for big mixing jobs. Well worth the price and has a permanent spot in our kitchen.
