I wouldn't recommend this unit,

I recently purchased this unit and had it installed. The installation went OK but the instructions that come with the system are real vague and the English translation is a bit rough. The system is flimsy and cheaply made of plastic. When I opened the cover to the filters one of the hinges was broken. After installing, the fan on the indoor unit ran at one speed and that was very slow. I called Amcor product support and seems they have only one guy, Don, who supports the split system products. He is knowledgeable but I got the runaround and some goofy answers on my first two calls. On the third call I finally nailed him down and he said he believed it was a loose set screw on the impeller and I would have to get a technician out to take the unit apart and tighten the set screw. I was not about to pay for a technician to repair my brand new system. Unfortunately, if he had sent a new indoor unit I would have also had to pay for the re-installation. Amcor was not willing to pay for any of this. I finally talked Don into walking me through the disassembly and I tightened the set screw. Everything worked fine after this. This is more trouble than I should have to go through for a new system. I would not recommend anyone buy this brand.

I HAVE BEEN USING AMCOR DUCTLESS UNITS FOR 3 YEARS.
AS LONG AS YOU CAN INSTALL IT OR FIND A CONTRACTOR IN YOUR AREA THEY WORK FINE. BUT WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ONE , LOOK OUT. READ ON, I HAVE A 12,000 BTU UNIT THAT WE HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH SINCE WE PURCHASED IT IN SEPT. 2008. I IN STALLED THEM MY SELF AS THERE IS NO COMPANY IN OUR AREA WHO KNOWS OR WILL REPAIR AMCOR UNITS. 1 WEEK DON SAID REMOTE WAS BAD, SENT US NEW ONE NEXT WEEK FAN MOTOR STOPPED WORKING , HE SENT US A NEW ONE . I IN STALLED IT. STILL NO COLD OR HOT AIR , CALLED DON JOHNSON A # OF TIMES HE BS'ED ALL OVER THE PLACE , HE KNOWS A/C BUT NOT HEAT PUMPS. DON TOLD ME TO CALL A LOCAL HEATING CONTRACTOR AND HE WOULD PAY THE BILL. I CALLED A. JOHNSON HEATING IN GLOVERSVILLE NY. 11/20/08. THEY SENT TWO MEN OVER , THEY SAID THEY HAD NEVER SEEN ONE OF THESES , THEY TALKED TO DON ON THE PHONE WHILE TESTING THE UNIT, THEY FOUND IT WAS NOT WORKING BECAUSE THERE WAS NO GAS IN IT. HE TOLD THEY TO CHARGE IT TO 350 LBS ON THE BLUE SCALE ON THE GAUGES , WE FOUND OUT MOUNTS LATER THAT THE UNITS COME FROM THE FACTORY WITH 490 - 500 LBS PRE CHARGED AND RUN CORRECTLY. ANY WAY WE GOT SOME HEAT BUT I TOLD DON I BELIEVED THE UNIT HAD A LEAK IN IT SOME WHERE , HE DID NOT AGREE. HE GAVE ME ALL KIND OF REASONS WHY IT WAS NOT PUTTING OUT THE HEAT LIKE THE OTHER ONE WE WERE USING IN THE FRONT PART OF OUR HOUSE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. A.JHONSONS BILL CAME TO $294.99 I PAID THEM AND SENT THE BILL TO DON. OH, I GOT A CHECK AFTER A LOT OF CALL TO DON AND HIS BOSS MARK IN JAN. 09/2009 FOR $175.00. CHECK #2860 DRAWN ON THE ISRAEL DISCOUNT BANK OF NEW YORK. $119.99 SHORT OF WHAT WAS PROMISED TO BE PAID. WILL WE HAD TO CALL THE REPAIR MEN BACK AGAIN IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS TO PUT MORE GAS IN THE UNIT. I CALL A LOCAL A/C GUY THAT I FOUND OUT THAT WORKED ON SANYO UNITS. HE TOLD US THAT DON WAS WRONG ON PUTTING GAS IN HEAT PUMPS AND THAT WE NEEDED TO PUT THE LIQUID FREON IN AND TO RAISE THE LBS TO = THE READING ON THE ONE THAT WAS WORKING OK. THIS WE DID AND GOT GOOD HEAT FOR A MONTH OR SO THEN IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. TWICE DURING THE WINTER GAS HAD TO BE PUT INTO THE UNIT , BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT PUT OUT THE HEAT OUT OTHER ONE WAS PUTTING OUT . SPRING CAME AND WE TURNED ON THE A/C SWITCH , THE A/C SIDE WORKED OK ALL SUMMER. NOW FALL IS HERE AND WE SWITCHED BACK TO HEAT AND IN LESS THAN A WEEK NO HEAT ALL OVER AGAIN, I JUST HAPPENED TO LOOK OUT THE WINDOW AND SAW WHIT SMOKE COMING FROM THE UNIT. I SHUT IT OFF AND WENT OUT , TOOK THE COVER OFF AN FOUND IT LEAKING GAS AT A SOLDER JOINT. NOW I HAVE SPENT 3 HOURS TRYING TO FIND OUT WHER TO TAKE OR SEND THE UNIT TO GET IT REPAIRED AND RECHARGED. BY THE WAY I CALLED MARK O'DONALD ABOUT THE SHORT CHECK AND HE SAID IN JAN. THAT HE WOULD CHECK IT OUT . HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM SINCE. IF WE CALL HIM OR DON NOW ALL WE GET IS A RECORDING TELLING US TO CONTACT OUR CONTRACTOR , WHICH DO NOT EXIST IN OUR AREA.
