Victims of Duty is in this group and it is hilarious!
Ionesco is on the top I feel of the Theatre of the Absurd top three playwrights, Ionesco, Pirandello and Stoppard. See Esslin's The Theatre of the Absurd for a review of Ionesco's work, with Pinter, Albee and Beckett. On the cutting edge of this kind of work which makes the present off Broadway play fare, look very bad. |
