5.0 out of 5 stars A very good book!
I liked this book because I liked how Amelia finnaly got to go back to her home town and see Nadia. I think you should read this book because someday maybe you'll be in Amelia's place!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not age appropriate
Too bad that an imaginative author like Marissa Moss has no moral compass. Any mention of occult matters in a book for 2nd-5th graders in WAYYY out of bounds--you can't even lean on the multi-cultural argument. Tarot cards, Ouji boards and reading chicken bones are something (superstitions) our kids shouldn't even be exposed to (and something that was highly unusual in...

Amelia and her sister Cleo and mom are on a road trip in theWest. Amelia and Cleo see the Yosimite, the Painted Desert and thedifferent towns. I like the colorful illustrations and the "useful information" in the back of her notebook. I also like the jokes Amelia makes about her sister Cleo.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very realistic book!, June 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Amelia Hits the Road (Amelia (Paperback American Girl)) (Paperback)
When I read this book, I felt I was really reading a notebook written by a ten-year-old girl. I can relate to her because we both have a pesky sibling who gets motion sickness! The illustrations were great. I liked all the little side notes that went along with the pictures. It is probably my all-time favorite book. Keep 'em coming, Ms. Moss!

Amelia Hits the Road was a great book!! In the book Amelia writes down all of her thoughts and feelings while she's visiting the GRAND CANYON, DEATH VALLEY, and YOSEMITE with her mother and her sister, Cleo. She also visits her old friend Nadia. I loved that part! The book was very funny and I loved the illustrations! WHAT A FANTASTIC BOOK!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amelia's Crazy Car Trip, December 4, 2007
The story is about a girl named Amelia and she has a notebook that she writes in. It's not like a diary. She writes about her car trip (more like an adventure with her mom), and her WEIRD/MEAN sister Cleo to California.

Amelia visits her best friend that moved away from Amelia's home town.
But they have to make a couple stops before they get to California. They stop at motels. Her gross sister (who sits in the back seat with poor Amelia) sings so bad like a sick opera singer and clips her toe nails.

I think the author, Marissa Moss, was trying to say: always take an adventure, but always with your family.

I recommend this book for girls who are interested in funny, realistic books.

5.0 out of 5 stars very satisfied., February 28, 2002
This review is from: Amelia Hits the Road (Amelia (Paperback American Girl)) (Paperback)
This book is a terrific one. It is an exciting story of Amelia on the road to Nadia's house. She makes lots of exciting stops on the way - like Death Valley! I definitely recommend this book!

Amelia Hits the Road was funny. My favorite part was when Amelia dumped her soda on top of Cleo's head. I also like it when she ment Mako, her new pen-pal. I like the book because Amelai had a lot of intresting things to tell.
