After playing with it for 2 hours, I finally realized it would not hold a vacuum and pump oil even though the instructions show that vacuum leaks are a problem with these units. Amazon accepted the return..

This system requires a vacuum and the seals on mine failed after the 2nd use and it would no longer hold a vacuum. They should have just made a pump system instead.

I read all the other reviews and I'm surprised that so many people have had problems. I've owned mine for about three years and it still works well. The only issue I've had to date is with the suction tubes collapsing when extracting hot oil, but that only slows the process.I bought this because I had a car with an oil filter on the top side of the engine instead of the bottom and I could do . The pumping process is the most difficult part and if you're a feeble person you might need to take a few breaks while doing it. However, that's where the challenge ends. You simply stick the extraction tube down the dip stick hole until it stops and then you release the clamp at the base of the extraction tube. From there just sit and watch as the oil is drawn out of your car. I'm able to get the majority of the oil out of my car. The way I can tell is that I can refill the car with the manufactures recommended volume of oil without it overfilling. Now I use the vac to change my transmission fluid. I know its not a complete service, but I can do it at 10,000 mile intervals and keep the transmission fluid relatively fresh.

Will not work out of the box. Here is what you need to do.,
This review is from: Air Power America 2000 LiquiVac Oil Changing System (Tools & Home Improvement)
This product does not (mine at least) work out of the box. I had to use pipe tape (teflon tape) around both screw caps. Then it would work just fine. I also used plumbers putty around the caps to insure a tight fit. works great now but it's over priced.

Works great!,

I purchased this to change the oil in my I/O boat motor. Took less than 5 minutes from out of the box to having the oil changed. I now use this to change the oil in all of my vehicles and small engines. Works like a champ and makes oil changes quick and clean.

hoses collapse with hot oil,

I was very disappointed that the flimsy plastic tubings (that connect the dip tube to the tank) collapsed as soon as the hot oil got to them, cutting off vacuum. Only by continuously manipulating the tubes by hand can the system continue to suck oil. Perhaps newer units dont have this problem.

Overpriced underperformer,

I bought this locally, after trying a much cheaper siphon system that was even more useless. As others have mentioned, this item will not consistently hold a vacuum right out of the box. Without modifying the unit in such a way as to make it unreturnable (and making it even more expensive), this item will not function.Save your money and time, either buy something metal, or continue doing changes the same way. Unless you have a vehicle with a top-mounted filter, you'll be getting underneath the vehicle anyway.

Very Bad Amazon Customer Service,
This review is from: Air Power America 2000 LiquiVac Oil Changing System (Tools & Home Improvement)
As a first time potential long time customer, this was a very bad example of customer service. The order was delayed over and over with the promise of an eventual delivery, and suddenly, after over a month of promises, you cancelled my order do to lack of availability from "your sources". We all know that it is actually available from other sources, just not at your price. After, much discussion with your customer service people I give up. Forget your offer of a $10 gift certificate, because I will never use it to order anything from you again. I will also discourage anyone that I know from using Amazon. You have truly created any enemy.
