This review is from: Iowa (America the Beautiful, Second) (Library Binding)
Books category - Travel or Guide Annual Competition for the Central States Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers, 2001First Place Martin Hintz America the Beautiful: Iowa Grolier/Children's Press (2000)1 judge's commentary: "A travel book for children?" was my first response. Children don't usually choose the motels or restaurants, but they might after reading this book - pester mom or dad to go visit some of the places described. The book could be a text for history or geography, but it was so well organized; illustrated and laid out that the student might be `tricked' into learning. Would love to own this book - with or without children - and to explore Iowa. Where were books like this when I was in school!"
