While I continue to be challenged by Wuthnow's lens, I do find his research results quite helpful as I begin my study of and involvement in interfaith ministry. At times it seems that the author is unnecessarily repetitive with his data and theories, conclusions, etc. His research seems to be varied and diverse enough to be credible and relevant to his topic; yet, some statements also reveal the author's rather insular lens. Still, Wuthnow's progression in widening his lens is evident since his other work that I've read, After Heaven. For anyone interested in interfaith dialogue, ministry, etc., America and the Challenges of Religious Diversity is a worthy investment of time and consideration.Reviewer: Candi Dugas, M.Div., is a D.Min. student at Columbia Theological Seminary (Decatur, GA) and the author of Bootlicked to Balanced: Healing the Mind, Freeing the Spirit.

Bob Wuthnow is one of the great thinkers on religious diversity, and this book is testimony. An excellent scholarly work.
