1.0 out of 5 stars Worst film on a Historical Subject
This is one of the rare films made on the 444 days hostage ordeal

This is one of the rare films made on the 444 days hostage ordeal
that followed the downfall of the Shah Of Iran in 1979. I was in Iran at that time, the film is much too symathetic towards Carter who is depicted as Mr. Good Guy if Carter was like the actor who portrayed him the Hostages would have certainly been liberated. and the Shah is portrayed with conviction by Daniel Gelin who manages to look like the Shah, but he has too many short lines, and appears as a Dummy which he was not. No effort is made on the costume of the Shah, their are some exciting moments especially when the Embassy is taken over, which is close to what happened, but the film is not at all objective and gives a very biased account of what actually happened. As for Valerie Kaprinski She looks like a beautiful Iranian Girl, victim as many of the events, however she could not have worn the décolleté under a viel as depicted in the movie in that period in Iran. Sorry chums but its a BAD, very BAD account of what really took place. PS:I'm Old enough so if I put 12 years old its because it's the highest I could click on your combo box
