Book Description

This Is Not Your Founding Fathers’ United States

Today’s politicians are doing their best to break down the foundations of our once-great nation—the Constitution and the Bill of Rights—and to make us completely reliant on the government in the process. They legislate morality and pander to the supposedly needy few while the majority suffers in silence, watching their rights disappear. Why do we not speak up?

The answers are simple: Fear. Complacency. Maybe even amnesia. Thanks to the twisted propaganda of the liberal media, we have forgotten that our government is not supposed to be our babysitter. It was never intended that government would fund our retirements, provide our medical care or give us money to feed our children.

In America: Land of the Free? Bilzerian examines the rights that the US Constitution—in its original, intended form—guarantees citizens and the ways in which those rights are being systematically destroyed. From excessive debt to Social Security, from robber barons to immigrants, from overpopulation to death and dying, no hot-button topic is safe from Bilzerian’s scrutiny as he argues for limited government and freedom from tyranny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why Did We Allow the Politicians Ruin Our Country? August 20, 2011
Format:Paperback
The book is a well written, well researched, thought provoking commentary on several important issues challenging America: (1) the remarkable trampling of our civil rights by the government and the federal courts; (2) the mind numbing federal budget deficit and the even more mind numbing federal debt and the unnecessary waste of tax dollars; (3) excessive government that is stifling our economy and driving American businesses offshore; (4) misguided government policies that are creating problems for America far faster than they are solving them; and (5) America's ill-advised foreign policy that is destroying America's credit rating and credibility. The author takes a historical look at how America has brought itself to such a precarious position and suggests some interesting solutions for all Americans to consider. This book will offend those Americans who think America is perfect, but for those seriously interested in what changes are needed to help return America to its place as the land of the free, it is well worth reading.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of JUNK January 24, 2012
By Truth
Format:Kindle Edition
If you liked Mein Kampf, you will love this book.

You don't have to read far into it to see that the author blames 9/11 on America's support for Israel. Not once does the writer look into the real reasons for Islamic hatred of non-Muslims: The Koran, imams and clerics!

If you want to read a book with substance, without a bias against success based on hard work and learning, don't waste even one second on this piece of junk.

I wouldn't spend even a nickel to get this; it is only good for the cat's litter box.
